J.K. for Model Number KGRT607HBS9 I have a KitchenAid Superba range model KGRT607HBS9 (I think made by Whirlpool based on how the parts seem to turn up). Some water was spilled on the cooktop. No problem for a day. Then, there was an error. We unplugged it, waited one minute and turned back on. Now, the error is cleared and the display lights up "control lock" but it is completely unresponsive to input (holding down 3/control lock does nothing nor any other button or combo I can find to try). Looking at the circuit board under the controls, it looks like Q6 may have an issue as there is discoloration on the board on this spot. Do I need to replace the whole control board or is it possible that some other cheaper part or magic remedy might fix this thing? Thanks!
Answer Hello J.K., Since the manufacturer provides no schematic of the board WP9782435, there is no way to troubleshoot or repair the board. All you can do is replace the board and check all of the connections to the board and control panel. This actually sounds like a relay sticking in the closed position. Read More...
