1 Answer Sergio, This error will most likely be caused by a faulty dryer thermistor which will be part number WP8577274. Read More...
Bill October 11, 2017 for Model Number MED5100DW0 My dryer doesn't seem to dry the clothes all the way. Many times I have to restart it a few times to fully dry the clothes. I also noticed that if the load is larger the clothes seem to dry. But if I have a small load then it seems like I have to restart the dryer a few times to fully dry the clothes. The duct work was just recently cleaned. Also I have been watching your repair videos and was wondering if the dryer sensor could be bad? Or maybe something else?
1 Answer Bill, Check and make sure the dryer is level front to back and side to side. You can use a clean rag, apply a liberal amount of rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol to the rag and wipe off the metal sensor bar strips, this would remove any fabric softener or softener sheet residue from the sensor. If the problem persists, the load may be too small to properly tumble and strike or land on the sensor bar to properly activate the moisture sensor circuit. Read More...
Naija September 09, 2017 for Model Number WED8000BWO My dryer keeps saying Check Vent after about 5 minutes of first starting a load. I have taken vent apart and cleaned it, vacuumed out lint, checked hose and nothing is blocked. Turned on dryer with hose detached and plenty of exhaust. What is the problem?
John August 19, 2017 for Model Number 11070932990 Can you test the moisture sensor bars with an ohmmeter? If so, what should it read?
1 Answer John, The moisture sensor bars can be tested for continuity but there is not a set resistance that it should read. Read More...
Len June 08, 2017 for Model Number WED9200SQ0 We select 40 minutes drying time and the dryer seems to run ok for approximately 20 minutes and cuts off like the cycle is through. We usually have to reset it 2 or 3 times to dry a load of clothes.
1 Answer Len, With the unit shutting off after 20 minutes then this would most likely not be caused by a faulty sensor bar. You will want to access the tech sheet and check to see if there are any error codes stored. This could be a thermistor issue or a faulty main control board. Read More...
Frank April 14, 2017 for Model Number 110.67741600 Hi I may need a moister senor the video shows replacing one. how do I know which one to replace or do you need to replace both
1 Answer Hello Frank. It is always best to replace both sensor bars at the same time if one is bad. If they are dirty, you can clean them using rubbing alcohol and you do not need to replace them. Read More...
Doug January 20, 2017 for Model Number WEP9250PL1 I noticed in your video showing the replacement of the moisture bar there were two bars showing but the video only replaced one. Are there actually two bars or just the one?
Tim January 06, 2017 for Model Number MED9600SQ0 My dryer is saying sensing. The unit comes on and lights up but when I push start it lights to sensing button and doesnt start drying.
1 Answer Hello Tim, This is most likely caused by a bad thermal fuse WP3392519. You should also make sure the ducting to outside atmosphere is a full 4 inch diameter without too many turns and no crimping. Read More...
Kimberly January 01, 2017 for Model Number MDE9700A My Maytag Neptune dryer has stopped heating - it is tumbling and blowing, however. It is displaying diagnostic code 10 - sensor bar, and a system check mode code that wavers between a 1 and a 0 - also indicating sensor bar problems. I'm having a difficult time finding replacement sensor bars for model MDE9700A. Help, please!
Craig December 20, 2016 for Model Number WED8410SW1 duet sport Electric dryer control panel is dead. The light in the drum comes on when the door opens. I have tested the continuity for the thermostat on the blower and the thermistor, the heating element and the breakers on the heater. Also tested continuity of wiring to the moisture sensor and tested the door switch. I have performed several of the control board tests. How do I test the continuity of the moisture sensor itself? I put a wet cloth on the metal strips and multimeter on the sensor terminals and multimeter showed a number like 120. (not zero) How do I test the control panel? I first suspected the control board, but now am thinking its the control panel that went bad.
1 Answer Hello Craig, You should pull the tech sheet and use the diagnostic test mode to determine the issue. If you cannot enter this mode due to the control panel being blank, check all of the connections between the boards and verify voltage to the display board. If voltage is getting to the display board and there is no display, replace the user interface board WP8571920. If no voltage is getting to the display board from the main board WPW10111606, replace the main board. Read More...
