The Oven Bake Element is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. This crucial component is responsible for providing the heat necessary for baking. Located at the bottom of the oven, the bake element heats up when electricity passes through it, allowing your oven to reach the desired cooking temperature. This OEM Replacement Part has push-on terminal ends and measures approximately 23-5/8"wide x 15-3/8" long, with 3-3/8" inserts

Symptoms of a failing oven bake element include:

  • Lack of heat production when the oven is turned on
  • Uneven baking results
  • Visible damage to the element such as blistering or splits
  • A trip in the circuit breaker when the oven is activated

Causes of bake element failure typically include thermal stress causing material fatigue, accidental damage during cleaning, and electrical issues such as short circuits.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

If you are unable to use your old connectors order TJMA02875-1.

Hello Jeff, You will most likely have to contact someone who deals with antique appliances. The model number will not even pull up so we cannot look up the correct part for you. You could also carry the failed element with you to an appliance parts store and try to match it up side by side. We apologize that we do not have the resources to assist you but if you are able to locate the part number, we can sell it to you if we carry the part.

I have a Magic Chef smooth top electric range. Yesterday we ran it thru a cleaning cycle. When It was almost finished it started flashing the bake indicator. After it cooled down and we were able to unlock the door, we cleaned up the ash. a few hours later when going to prepare dinner, I tried to preheat the oven and it won't heat up, it just flashes the bake light when you try and set the temperature. It allowed us to try and set the temperature a couple of times, but each time it did it scrolled immediately up to 350 and beeped like it was done pre heating, except that it was ice cold. I was poking around on the internet and I think the problem may be with the bake element . I replaced the lower bake element once in July of 2010. I don't have the model number here right now, but the bake element is #74010750 if that helps. I also turned of the breaker for a few minutes to try and reset the circuit board. Please let me know what I can do to diagnose it. Thanks, Wayne K

Wayne, To check to see if the issue is with the bake element or the control board you will want to access the control board. Turn the oven on bake and check from L2 to bake and if there is 240 vac then the control board is the issue. If there is only 120 vac or nothing at all then the bake element is most likely the cause.
