Hello Derek. If there is water leaking out of the float, it sounds like the water valve is not shutting oof properly or you are using to much soap in the unit and causing the issue with the unit.

Hello Debra, The door seal is not designed to go across the bottom since the bottom of the door is designed to be the air inlet for the dry cycle so the issue could well be there. If water is jumping the air gap you need to check the spray arms for debris. You see, if the spray arm is partially clogged on one end, there will be more pressure escaping from the other end. As the spray arm spins, this inconstant pressure will put a "wave" in the water in the bottom of the tub. This will "slosh" the water over the air gap. If the spray arms are not clogging, there is also the possibility of the spray arms separating in the center, where the manufacturer assembled the upper and lower halves of them. This also will put a wave in the water.

We had the leak as described from the float - made it all the way to the basement. I was able to get a float at a local parts store and replaced it and there is still a leak - although much smaller in magnitude - at the same location (the switch that controls the stops the tub filling. What is the correct way to install the new float? What is the position of each of the three pieces? The nut is put on after the float is inserted through the pipe? Correct? The rubber washer goes on the top of the tube or underneath before the nut goes on? It seems like it is going to leak some amount no matter what? Thanks for any guidence you can provide.

Peche,You're mostly on track. Insert the float into the float tube, make sure everything is clean ,first. Insert the washer over the end of the float stem and push it up the approximately 1/3 to 1/2 way up, install the nut on the stem and turn the float 2 or 3 turns clockwise. Then, Check and make sure the dishwasher is level in both directions(front to back and side to side). Start the dishwasher and allow it to run 5 minutes, unlatch the door and remove the lower rack. The water level should be within 1/4 inch of the heater element, if the fill level is correct, you'll need to remove and check the lower spray arm and bearings, for excessive wear and cracks or splits in the spray arm.

Hello Kassidy. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit.

Barb, The vent could be the issue, but , you need to check the lower spray arm assembly WP8268874 If the spray arm is split, or the jet openings on the arm are clogged, the water can be mis directed and blow out the bottom of the door. Also check and make sure the door panel abd door hinges aren't bent or out of alignment. Thanks and Good Luck

Hi Cmiper. The float assy. as shown in the picture part # WP3376397, is assembled with the washer just on the backside of the nut. Its also there to stop the stem from coming back into the tub. Over soaping can cause suds to overflow out onto the top of the switch. Thank You.
