Rhy for Model Number KUDS01FLBL2

My user interface (as you call it) was having a very difficult time working right. I would push the buttons on top and it just wouldn't start the dishwasher and some of the lights wouldn't light up. I replaced the part and the dishwasher worked for a month perfectly. Then out of the blue, none of the buttons would work at all or even light up. I got another user interface and it won't work any buttons either. I am thinking that isn't the problem ? I did a test with a power finder and it chimes as I get close to the start buttons, which makes me think power is getting up to the board.

Hi RHY. Use a volt/ohm meter part #@ MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. It is located in the control panel area or the lower kick plate. Use the door striker to trip the door latch to make sure you are getting full 120 volts to the control board through the thermal fuse part # 8193762. A very common board lost voltage power issue that now is upgraded. If not back up and check the door switches to insure you are not loosing voltage there. If you still do not have full voltage then back up to the lower power junction box and make sure the connections are tight at full supply voltage there. Use the breaker for safety. As you have a solid copper supply line and the dishwasher has a solder tinned stranded wire, it is common the stranded wire will lower under the wire cap twisting effect to the bottom of the solid wire and not allow the proper total stranded wire length to tighten with the solid wire together. Knowing this is an importance that the unit can get apparent voltage but will not draw the correct amperage needed under a load and starve a control board and prematurely ruin it. It all can go back to a improper installation issue. Make sure the 14 pin control board is connected fully and that all female spade connections will contact the solid board pin tightly. Use a pick tool and a magnifying glass to close the wire connector female spade connectors. Let us know how to help further if so needed. Thank You.

Hi John. DISHWASHER : Flashing green light means the heating circuit or the drain circuit/hose has an issue. Ohm out the heater to see if it has continuity and not open. Make sure all wires are connected tight and not bad.Heater part # 8194200.The thermistor part # WP8269208 will tell the board if the heater has to be initially used to increase wash temperature to at least 120°. Are you running the sink water hot while loading the dishwasher? Is the water heater set to at least 120°? Is the drain pump clogged or inoperative part # WP661658? Make sure the drain hose is not clogged at the sink or the sink clogged. Use the lower kick panel tech. sheet or behind the control panel. There is a tech.sheet to aid in a field service test to aid after you have checked these issues. Make sure the door neutral and line switches are working properly. Let us know if we can assist further. Thank You.

Mark, You're on track, a blinking light or no program is an indication of a bad keypad, on the control panel W10775980. " PROBLEM: WON’T RUN AND LED ABOVE KEY(S) IS BLINKING > Stuck key(s) or shorted circuit(s) in keypad. > Shorted circuits or connections on the control that read the keys." You should be fine once you get the control panel replaced. Thanks

Hello Jeff! The manufacture only offers the buttons with the control panel W10775980. It is suggested to replace this item, steam can build up and ruin the control board. Thanks!

Larry D. for Model Number kuds01flss6

My kitchen aide KUDS01FLSS6 shuts down and I have to call a service tech to restart it. This has happened twice on a machine that in a second residence and is not used that often. The service tech seemed to be familiar with the problem and indicated the updated models fault three times before they lock the machine out. Is this a common problem on this model and is there a way to update it so I dont have to call a service tech every time it shuts down?

Hello Sam. You might want to change both parts here. The user interface will fix the problem your having, but with the start button being cracked, it can allow moisture to enter and make contact with the new board. If you replace the panel W10775980, you will prevent the moisture from entering the board through the cracks. Hope this helps.
