Gj October 13, 2011 for Model Number kaws577eq0 My Kitchenaid washer will fill and when it gets to the wash cycle will make a humming noise. I can't get it to agitate, spin, pump out water etc. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hi GJ. The motor switch part # WP8529896 needs changed. It has internally pitted contacts not allowing the motor to run. The motor capacitor allows the motor to run most efficiently, part # is WP8572720. Thank you. Read More...

Gbodel September 24, 2011 for Model Number LA9680XWW0 My Whirlpool washer fills with water but does not spin or drain, replaced the leaky pump and coupler. I have checked the motor wiring, motor switch and capacitor, all checked out fine with the ohm meter. Still trying to nail down the issue.
1 Answer Hi Gbodel. You may need a door switch kit part # isW10820036. The actuator arm is part # WP359807. Is the agitator turning? Is the motor working in agitation? If you have to manually advance the timer then the timer is part # 3356057. Is the cold/ hot water valve house supply on? Flush out the hoses and try to clean the water valve inlet screens. They clog up with debris's. The water valve is part # 285805. Thank you. Read More...
Gbodel September 17, 2011 for Model Number LA9680XWW0 My Whirlpool Imperial series washer has been running good for over 20 years, a coupler now and then. Recently it started to leak which was fixed with a new pump. The washer now just fills with water and hums, it will not pump the water out or spin. The hum will going away if I open the lid. I have checked the capacitor and motor out with an ohm meter, all seemed fine. The timer seems to works as it continues to turn. Any idea's?

Angel August 13, 2011 for Model Number LSQ9549PW1 Water will fill with requested amount. Then the machine will not agitate, spin, or pump water out. The timer never moves. I have checked the lid switch=good. I have replaced the timer...could it be a motor switch or motor?
1 Answer Hi Angel. Remove power. You Can Strip a 3' piece of insulated wire and bypass the switch. Unhook the connector and jump the gray and white wires. This should allow the neutral to complete the circuit to the motor. The lid switch will test OK, but not allow the power to pass through. This part # is WP8318084. If that is OK, then try to bypass the violet and tan wires (bypass) on the pressure switch(at control panel with the hose). This part # is W10339326. You can also call for "wash" and use a hose of the same size, blow into it towards the pressure switch and see if it will close the contacts in the pressure switch. Thank you. Read More...

After sitting for awhile if knob is moved will only hum. Lid switch is fine. We are thinking it is possibly the motor switch. No previous problems with the machine. Thank you
