Ellen August 18, 2011 for Model Number Whirlpool Dryer LER4634EQ2 I ordered new start switch but do not remember which wire color goes to which terminal. There is a black and a white. Is there someone who can help guide me to which wire goes to which terminal? There is a diagram on the back of switch showing a long line going up and the other side shows a very short line going under the long one. Any Help Please.
1 Answer Hi Ellen. The 2-terminal switch is an momentary switch. It really electrically don't matter which wire where on this type of switch. However you can be electrically correct by hooking the black wire to C- or common. The wht/- Or- wht/red wire to the L terminal. The diagram is not specific as to the exact lettering/numbering . Ron July 20, 2011 for Model Number 110.96529120 I have a Kenmore dryer (model) 110.96529120, serial no. 1813951, my dryer will not start, I push in the start button, no result, I check my circuit breaker it is fine, can you please help me I don't know what wrong. Thanks Mr. Bryant
1 Answer HI Ron. Does your door switch have continuity? If not, Replace it with part # W10820036. If so then I would replace the thermal fuse(located on the blower hsg.). This part # is WP3392519.Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermal fuses and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Thank you. Read More...
Carolyn W. July 12, 2011 for Model Number rex4635eq2 My dryer will not start when the button is pushed. Where is the fuse so I can check it?
1 Answer Hi Carolyn. Remove power to the unit. Remove back assembly. On the left there is a vertical blower wheel housing. There are 2 electrical devices connected to the housing. The thermal fuse is approximately 1/2 " wide and 1-1/4" long with 2 - blue wires attached. If This is open (Test with an ohm meter), it normally reads closed. This opens when too much exhaust heat is backed up into the dryer. Clean your entire vent system, and make sure your vent cap outside works properly or you might be replacing this again. The thermal fuse is part # WP3392519. Thank you. Read More...
Gary S. July 06, 2011 for Model Number #3395382 My dryer comes on as soon as you start setting minute's, and turns off no problem. Everything else works fine. I thought I would replace start push button. I'm trying to find out the price of the part if that's the problem.
1 Answer Hi Gary. We will need your correct model # to assist you. You are possibly looking at a door switch. Your model # is inside the front panel as you open the door. Thank -you. Read More...
Helicraig April 14, 2011 for Model Number 110.66824692 Drier was working OK, opened the door to take something out, now it won't restart. The door switch turns the light off and on, but that's it. With the door shut, if I push the start button, you can hear the timer start. But as soon as the button is released it sound like the timer stops.
1 Answer Hi! If the motor does not come on when you press the start button then it could be the fuse WP3392519. You will also want to make sure you are getting 240 volts to the unit from the breaker box. If one of the circuits is off, it will get enough power to run the motor but not heat. If the fuse is blown, you will want to make sure the vent tubing is clear of any obstructions or the fuse will blow again. Thanks Read More...
