Gb for Model Number MDBH985AWS

I have Maytag Dishwasher: MDBH985AWS. The control panel is not working properly. The dishwashwer will not start. I have read the manual and still not sure what part is broken and needs replaced. Below is what is happening with each button: Auto Clean - Light will turn on when pushed but will not turn off Heavy Wash - will not turn on Normal Wash - will not turn on Light wash - will not turn on Rinse Only - will not turn on Heated Dry - will turn on and off Sanitize - will turn on and off High temp - will remain on but will not turn off Tough Scrub Plus - will not turn on Start/Cancel - will not turn on Delay - turns on but only "2" or "4" will be displayed What part(s) is needed to fix this?

GB, It sounds like the control panel is the issue. You will want to access the control board and check the ribbon harness from the control panel to the board and make sure that there is no corrosion on the harness. If there is clean it with an eraser. If this checks ok then you will want to replace the control panel.

Hello. We just replaced the door latch assembly - it works great! Now, however, the buttons on the top are not cooperating. If I push any of the was selections nothing happens. If I push start/cancel then the selection of China, Heated Dry, Extra Rinse lights up and it works fine on those selections. But I would like to choose my own options. Since they are both pricey, I was hoping to find out if I needed to replace the touchpad control panel or the control board. As a bit of back story, we had been living with the broken latch for a while, just making sure to press it closed and not open it mid-cycle. The other night I woke up in the middle of the night to find that the dishwasher was STILL RUNNING hours after it should have stopped. I opened the door to hit cancel to shut it down and it wouldn't stop, so I unplugged it. Once we replaced the latch assembly, it now mostly works, except for the situation explained above. - I appreciate any advice!

Hello WP. Make sure the ribbon cable is not broke or loose on the control panel. Also, clean it and make sure it is dry. If all is good, you will need to replace the control panel 6-919765 on the unit.

Garry for Model Number Jenn Air JDB1270AWY

Dishwasher buttonson the top panel stopped working yesterday, except for one. Using the "heated dry" button to activate child lockout still works and lights up. But no other button does anything and no dishwasher operation. I already replaced a broken door latch assembly about a month ago. Machine was working fine until yesterday. I've read there are 3 possible problems - bad connection, bad panel control, or the control board. I assume since the "heated dry" will work the machine is getting power. My question is which of the other two items is more likely to be bad. I'm a novice at this and do not have any meters to check anything electrial and wouldn't know what to look for anyway. I guess worse case I'd have to buy both and return the one not the problem, or just replace both since the machine is about 7 years old.

Garry, The keypad is the most likely cause of failure. You will want to make sure that there is a good contact of the ribbon harness and check that there is no corrosion on the cable.

Just about to order the replacement touchpad/panel Part Number: AP436507 for my Jenn Air dishwasher. Read one response already that discussed how and where to insert the ribbon into the control board. One step says "Remove pin and ribbon connectors from PC Board. 6" My question is, how do you remove the pin? Does it just pull off? It looks like the inside of a computer circuit and I am afraid to just pull it off, it looks like it would break the circuit board or something. Thanks!

Hello Hillary, There will be a push pin that you will push in on and pull out the ribbon connection from the control board. There may be 2 clips on the side of some models that you would push in and pull up on.

Hello Edgar, This can only be one of three things. A bad connection, a bad control panel 6-919765, or a bad electronic control board. The electronic control board part number is dependent on the first two numbers of the serial number, (this is used as the series or run number). If the first two serial numbers are 32 or lower, you will need to order 12002710. If the first two numbers are 33 or higher you will need to order WPW10218826. Considering the complaint, I would guess a bad connection. If this isn't it, my next guess would be the power supply for the panel on the control board. The last thing I would try for a dim display is the display itself. Remember, if you order a part that isn't needed, as long as you send it back before 365 days have passed, we will refund for the returned part.

Theoldman for Model Number JDB1250AWR

Many of the keypad lights failed awhile ago but if I press Start, then Normal Cycle, it usually works. But sometimes it stops before it opens the detergent dish which makes me think that it's running a short or rinse only cycle. If I then unplug it overnight and try again in the morning, it works (the lights still don't work but it runs the entire cycle) and will continue to work for a few more times. If the plug were more convenient, I would simply unplug it after every use. Pulling the plug for just a few minutes does not work, it must be at least 6-10 hours in my emprical testing. This leads me to think that it is not the keypad but rather the controller. BTW the model list shows JDB1250AWR10 but the plate in my dw just has JDB1250AWR. It does has another number 10736581LJ which I figured is the s/n. Anyway let me know what you think. (Thanks for your help/part on my JennAir stove last year, it works great now!)

OldMan, The Control panel/Keypad assembly, 6-919765 is the issue. Depending on the degradation of the circuit board, determines the length of time it takes to "recover". And there's always a possibility of a circuit failure on the cancel pad, that turns the machine off. It's a pretty simple and quick repair. Turn power off to the dishwasher. Remove the inner door panel screws(torx screws) separate the liner from the door panel, Unplug the wiring to the detergent dispenser, remove the screw in the board cover and disconnect the ribbon from the control board. and remove the remaining two screws. Slide the outer door panel up and off the door assembly, Then slide the door insulation down and remove the three 1/4 in. hex head screws from the lower inner door panel and slide the control pnel up and out of the door assembly. Reverse the procedure and check for proper operation. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Susy. The clear strip is a ribbon cable which has to wrap back up around and plug into the control board. Not a big issue at all but you will have to open the door panel back up to access it. If the unit has been down for a while and is developing an odor, the unit can be sanitized with dishwasher magic TJ104 Hope this helped!

Susy, The "clear strip" should be the touchpad ribbon, and is plugged into the connector on the control board 12002710. If it not connected and seated properly, that would explain why there are no lights. Heres some help " 1. Disconnect power to the machine. 2. Remove the Inner Door Panel. 3. To access PC Board, remove 1/4" screw on PC Board Housing Cover. 4. To remove PC Board, loosen (2) 1/4" screws securing PC Board Base to Control Panel. 5. Remove pin and ribbon connectors from PC Board. 6. Depress tabs on PC Board Housing to remove PC Board." Remeber that the touchpad ribbon should be routed between the control board housing and the door panel and will be routed and plugged into the PC board from under the Housing. Thanks and Good Luck
