For Whirlpool Dishwasher Drain Pump (Part Number: OEM18030774)

Mike, Check and make sure the accumulator 8193918 in the center bottom of the tub is not blocked or clogged with debris. Disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the disposal or sink drain connection, and drain the dishwasher into a large bucket/container, this should flush any debris in the drain hose and pump assembly. Good Luck and Thanks

Rascal, You may want to disconnect the dishwasher drain hose from the disposal or sink drain connection and drain the dishwasher into a bucket. It will flush any clogs or debris in the drain hose and drain pump, and varify a possible drain issue in the sink plumbing. We're presuming the drain pump motor does run in the drain cycle. Thanks and Good Luck

Kim for Model Number KUDS01FLWH6

My Kitchenaide dishwasher has been making a loud grinding noise and not emptying the water. I just changed the drain pump part #AP3133590. The old part was missing two blades. The machine still does not drain but the noise seems to be gone. I found some You Tube videos that helped me change the pump. I noticed in the video that the electric connections, based on wire color of blue and green, were reversed from my pump. Does this matter? Should I be looking at part circulation motor part # AP4434021 or AP4434617 Circulation pump and motor assembly? Thanks.

Hello Kim. You will need to check and see if the drain hose for the unit is clogged. If so, it will prevent the unit from draining properly. Also, make sure the wires are hooked up to the new motor WP661658 the same way they were on the old one. Hope this helps.

Hello Rey. Customarily with electronic dishwashers, the green "clean light " will come up at the completion of a wash cycle. It Is correct. Thank You.

Nick, Your drain issue is more likely a restricted drain hose, or inefficient drain pump. You should also remove the accumulator(top of the pump motor) and check for debris blocking the sump araea inside the assembly. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Paul. You will need to uninstall the dishwasher and lay it on its back. Then with one hand press the tab that secures the pump assembly, and with the other hand rotate the pump counterclockwise to remove. Reinstall in reverse order. To test the pump, you will use a multi-meter and check for voltage coming to the pump assembly. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Ben. You will need to look and see where the pump assembly is leaking from. If it is coming from around the seal, check and make sure the o-ring is in the proper location and it is locked into the sump assembly correctly. If it is good, you may need to replace the pump. Hope this helps.

Hello Randy. The only way the pump would not work in the normal cycle only, is the board is not sending power to the pump during that cycle. If you replaced the board, then you will need to test and see if the board is sending power to the pump during the normal cycle. If so, and the pump is not running, you will need to change the pump. Hope this helps.
