Jim March 30, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool WTW 6200 SW2 I have a Whirlpool WTW 6200 SW2 washer and get the error message “UL” every time the washer is run, even when the washer is empty. I confirmed that the washer is level and the four suspension rods, sockets, and balls are clean and lubricated. 1) I removed the tub and notices the shaft is rusty and there are a two metal grooves. Is the shaft supposed to be smooth to allow the tub to float up and down? Can I just sand the shaft smooth? 2) When I spin the shaft (which spins the rotor) it is easy for about the first quarter of the turn then it gets harder to spin, is this supposed to happen? 3) It also appears that there is water in the stator/rotor assembly, is there supposed to be? 4) There is water in the enclosed bottom part of the tub assembly, is there supposed to be? Thank you for your time, Jim
1 Answer Jim, There is supposed to be a little water in the outer tub but there should be no water in the stator and rotor assembly. The shaft can be sanded slightly but it sounds like you are going to need a tub bearing kit W10435302 for the unit due to the water issue. There is also a tool you need for the tub bearing W10447783 Read More...
1 Answer Hello Barbara. Loosen the bolt in the bottom of the unit by leaning the washer back or removing the back access panel depending on the model. Then once the bolt is loose, you pull the old rotor off and install the new rotor. Read More...
James February 09, 2013 for Model Number WTW6600SG1 We keep having balance problems and the washer is level.
1 Answer James, You didn't mention any error codes in the display, so there ar several things you'll need to check. Make sure the washer is on a good level, solid floor, and as close to the floor as possible. Check and make sure the suspension rods, sockets and balls are clean and lubricated. Make sure the machine is properly loaded and the clothes are sorted properly. If you are having Error codes or display warnings, you'll want to check or replace the RPS and wiring harness W10183157 and make sure there are no loose connections or warped components. Read More...

Roland November 05, 2011 for Model Number wtw7800xwo water is leaking from the rotor area when it is moving
1 Answer Roland, If water is leaking from the rotor/stator assembly, in the center, bottom of the tub assembly, it's usually due to a leaking tub seal. To repair the tub seal, you'll need to order the outer tub assembly W10193886 . The tub seal is not available as a single unit part, and you'll recieve everything you need to repair the unit. Handy Man October 10, 2011 for Model Number MVWB400VQ0 I thoroughly checked the Maytag Bravo washing machine and the water is being sparingly sprayed from the the Rotor/Stator part of the washing machine. I made sure the wash load is level and not at full capacity. Also, the sprayed water seem to happen during the wash cycle of the wash. Any ideas, solutions will gladly be appreciated.
