Sheryl September 21, 2019 Where do I attach tub centering springs on Kenmore 110.20022012 tub? I was going to replace the suspension rods and the springs were just hanging on the rods. Are the 2 or 4 springs? There are only 2 present.
1 Answer Sheryl, These springs will be located on the front right and rear right of the unit. They will go around the rod and then will hook to a post that is under the tub cover so the cover will have to be lifted slightly to get the spring on and off. Read More...
Bob September 18, 2019 for Model Number NTW4650YQ0 My washer has been violently banging around whenever it enters the final spin cycle and I have recently replaced the Tub Suspension Rods and the banging hasn't gone away. Upon further inspection I found that I did not have the tub centering springs at all. How many springs should be on this model? The owners manual and parts lists are not saying.
1 Answer Hello Bob, that washer model uses 2 centering springs part AP5263280 , one on the right front and one on the right rear. Read More...
Rita August 15, 2019 for Model Number WTW4800BQ1 Does the model WTW4800BQ1 use "tub centering springs"? we replaced the suspension rods because of the banging noise when the machine was in spin mode. The video showed to replace "centering springs" but not sure this machine ever had springs. The tub seems so loose & wobbly. Would centering springs solve the tub problem? Thanks Rita
1 Answer Rita, your model does not use tub centering springs. When the tub is empty, it can have a "loose" movement at the top from front to back and side to side. The suspension rods are used to support and center the tub, as well as absorb movement at the bottom of the tub. The top of the spin basket has a ring that contains a fluid used as a counter-balance when the basket is spinning. When a washer is properly level, these components work together to limit vibration and out of balance conditions. The suspension rods can be verified for proper condition by pressing down on the tub, while empty, until it goes no further. Then the tub would be released allowing it to rise on its own. If the tub has a bounce when it rises, the suspension rods have failed as there should be no bounce during this test. The counter-balance fluid can be verified by rotating the spin basket by hand quickly and then abruptly stopping the rotation. The fluid should be audible as it sloshes into a resting state. Tcb July 25, 2019 for Model Number MVWC200XW2 For my model, does it take 2 centering springs or 4? The machine shakes violently (has even chipped plastic off the top of the basket), and the counter help at appliance parts said it sounded like the centering springs. But I replaced them and it still shakes violently. Any other suggestions at to what this might be would be great!!
1 Answer Hello TCB, your washer model has 4 tub suspension rods, part W10780048, also check the inner tub if it is loose on its center mounting or is offset from center. Read More...
Leah June 24, 2019 for Model Number WTW4950XW2 Does this washer have a counter balance spring or just tub centering springs? It shakes and moves across the floor during the spin cycle so I took it apart and it looks to only have the suspension rods and tub balancing springs.
1 Answer Leah, There is no "counterbalance spring" on this model washer. The [W10257086] Damper Assembly, Tub Suspension rods and the [W10348658] Spring, Tub Centering are the suspension system for the washer. Check to make sure the floor and flooring is "solid", can support the washer weight,. make sure the washer is level and the feet are "locked" in place, check the bottom of the cabinet and frame to make sure it's not bent or damaged. If all's OK, recheck the use and care manual for the proper loading and distribution. Read More...
John June 17, 2019 for Model Number w10338679c Admiral Top Load Washer I have an Admiral Top Load Washer that is banging during the spin cycle. I removed the top assuming I would need to replace the centering springs but they do not seem to have them. Could this be the problem or does this model not use them? w10338679c
1 Answer Hello John, the model number you gave w10338679c is not a valid model number,if you could check it and resend it we can check if your model uses springs or not. Otherwise you can check the washer cabinet is level and legs locked, check the tub suspension struts, lastly the inner basket mounting may be loose or worn. Read More...

James C February 03, 2019 for Model Number HLP21N My washer seems to be getting noisier during the high spin cycle. It is likely the suspension rods may be weak because of age, but it was hard to tell when I pulled them out one at a time. Is there a way to test it? The drum itself feels rather loose and wobbly when one tries to push it around not while running. Thank you
1 Answer James, For this issue you would push down on the tub and it should spring back up if the rods and springs are good. This is what sounds like if the noise is a banging type noise. If it is not and the noise is a loud roaring noise then the bearings would most likely be the issue. Read More...
