Lars May 22, 2014 for Model Number electrolux side by side fridge freezer model EW23CS65GS1 A technician came to repair my fridge /freezer exposed the evaporator and found no ice on it anywhere. His prognosis was "system problem/ leak". An other technician would have to repair. I was told that my fridge needs a new evaporator and heatexchanger which they would have to order before the come. the estimate was $800.00 plus and HSTax. What would be wrong with an evaporator and does no ice on the evaporator define the need to replace it.Should not all the sensors, defrost thermostat, defrost timer relay overload etc not be tested to make this prognosis. The fridge came with the house we bought in september and the icemaker was never used until ab out 2 weeks ago. I don't think it is related but the problem started than in effect freezer and fridge did not cool anymoe. You help would be welcomed thank you. Lars

I had a used switch#7401373-60 and it still won't cut the heat down. What could be wrong? The 238 was a new switch. The service man had changed the element before for not getting hot.

Diana January 15, 2014 for Model Number Maytag MER5770aaw I recently replaced the front dual burner because the center small burner was not working. I did wire to wire connection and the dual burner worked well. A few days later, when I turned on the small burner behind the dual burner, it turned on the dual burner (small center burner) simultaneously. I noticed that the new dual burner replacement was a little different wiring compared to the old one. However, the concept is the same. If the wiring wrong, the dual burner won't work, right? I'm puzzled, how can a switch control 2 burners? Please help! Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Diana. Usually this happens by a wire passing power to both elements. Double check the wiring and see if it is causing the issues with the unit. Neil July 29, 2013 for Model Number Maytag stove MERH865RAQ1 The front left burner cycles on and off, not heating properly. The infinite switch internal contactor is making and breaking every 5-10 seconds. I got a replacement from your store, it does the same thing - did I order the wrong component? Is this not the problem? Just replaced the front left burner, that did not resolve it either - seems to be the contactor in the switch.
1 Answer Hello Neil. It is normal for the elements to cycle on and off on the units. Some will stay on longer than others, depending on the setting on the switch. 1 Answer Mike, Here is a way to test to see if the elements are working properly. Take a pan and fill it with a quart/ 32 oz of room temperature water.
