Mike May 17, 2013 for Model Number CAV2004AWW I have a Magic Chef washer that I need to replace the timer on. that part# is 21001522. I can't seem to figure out how to get the timer knob off the timer so I can remove it. I talked to a guy at the local store and he said it should unscrew counter clockwise. That does not seem to work. The whole shaft spins all the way through the timer. So that obviously does not work. I have tried pulling on it also with no luck. Can you provide some more direction on how to get the knob off the timer shaft?
1 Answer Mike, When you access the timer from the back, in the center there is an opening. You will pull the green shaft in the middle up and this will allow you to pull the timer knob off. Read More...

Jim J. April 17, 2013 for Model Number maytag washer mod#pav2300aww I can't get the knob off off the timer so I can get it off of the control panel. I talked to a person at a appliance parts store and he said that there was a release on the back of the timer to get the knob off of the shaft, but it doesn't want to release. Can you explain it to me?
1 Answer Hello Jim. Access the back of the timer. With the knob pressed in, you will grasp the green clip and pull it out with needle nose pliers. Then the knob will pull off the timer shaft. Read More...
Lori April 08, 2013 for Model Number PAV2300AWW Rinse cycle water keeps running and won't shut off and over flows.
1 Answer Hello Lori. If you can stop the water from entering the machine by turning off the timer or unplugging the unit, you will need to look for a bad pressure hose or replace the pressure switch. If the only way to shut off the water is at the shut off for the water hoses, you will need to replace the water valve in the unit. Read More...
Smitty November 26, 2012 for Model Number maytag PAV2300AWW Hi, My washer was making a whining noise in the spin cycles, but now it doesn't spin at all. works OK in all the other parts of the cycles. Fills with water, drains OK, agitates OK. A few people said it might be the timer, but I talked with your lady there and said it probably wasn't the timer.
1 Answer Hello Smitty, You would want to pull the pump WP35-6780 off and check for restrictions in pump that would cause pump to not spin. Also check the bottom of unit. The center pulley is the thrust bearing. When you turn thrust bearing one direction it will just spin. If you turn the other direction it will lift the brake. Check to make sure it is lifting brake. If it is not lifting brake then you would need to replace thrust bearing 12002213 and brake WP35-6714. Also pull inner tub out and make sure that there is nothing in between the tubs that would cause not to spin. Read More...
Rick September 18, 2012 for Model Number LNC6760A71 Agitator doesn't work, everything else fine. Could it be the Timer?
1 Answer Hello Rick. If the motor runs, but the agitator does not turn, you need to check and see if the agitator is stripped. If not, replace the transmission 35-6615 in the unit. Read More...
Chris June 12, 2012 for Model Number MAYTAG #PAVT234AWW My Maytag washing machine only works in the spin cycle. All the moving parts under the machine are working freely with the pulleys. When I set the timer on anything other than spin cycle, I just get a humming noise & nothing works. Do you have a clue what it could be?
1 Answer Hello Chris. If the unit is humming during the agitation mode, and nothing is locked up, it sounds like the timer WP21001522 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Rick May 28, 2012 for Model Number Admiral aab7000aww top load washer When the dial is on spin (on any of the wash selections), the agitator is running instead of the barrel spinning.
1 Answer Hello Rick. You will need to check and see if the thrust bearing 12002213 is releasing the brake to spin the unit. If not, you will need to replace the thrust bearing. Turn the pulley by hand to test this. Read More...
Murphy May 25, 2012 for Model Number CAV2004AWW Magic Chef washer won't drain unless I lift the lid and close it again. It moves through the cycles though and the dial completes the cycle
1 Answer Hello Murphy! You will need to check and replace the lid switch assembly, part number 12001187. You can test parts by using a Multi Meter MA-DM1. Paul May 09, 2012 for Model Number pav2300aww load went off balance, rebalanced wouldn't restart, let sit for4 hours, immediately restarted and filled, then buzzing noise and woouldn't agitate. unpluged, reset lid several times turned timer wouldn't do anything now
1 Answer Paul, With the washer being "dead" now, you want to check and Mkae sure the lid switch and actuator has not failed 12001187. Also check and make sure the lid hinges are not loose and the lid is not bent. You would want to remove the front panel, unplug the power cord first, and check to see if the wiring harness and connections at the motor were not dislodged by the off balnced load, and the belt underneath the unit was not "kicked" off the pulleys( thats how the off balnce load works) If all's OK, then go for the timer. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
