Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Micro switch had gone bad causing fan to run when you turned on the burner   John M. • Winder , GA • November 11, 2014

It required that you take off the top of the stove. The micro switch is between the inside pan for the burners and the outer frame that holds the complete stove top in place. The removal of the screws and nuts that hold the switch in place was not to bad, but you had to make sure that the nuts did not drop down into the outer pan. The replacement of the nuts and screw was a pain. You are working blind trying to put the screws thru the micro switch and then having to line up the nuts to go... Read more

Switch
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5304493153

The Door Switch is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire wall ovens. It is a component located on the oven door that detects when the door is opened and closed. The door switch works alongside the control board to regulate oven operations based on door position.

Symptoms of a bad door switch can include:

  • Oven failing to automatically go into bake or warm modes after door closure
  • Interior lights not turning on when the door is opened
  • Control buttons/display remaining constantly lit instead of dimming
  • Oven not heating or functioning properly in different modes

Causes relate to normal wear over extended use as the door switch mechanism cycles with frequent door openings and closings. Moisture exposure or impacts could also degrade switch performance.

This OEM Frigidaire switch is compatible with Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, and some Electrolux wall oven models as well.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frigidaire microwave oven lights and timer work but oven doesn't heat   Reese F. • Essex Junction , VT • August 16, 2015

I diagnosed this problem via the web and the advice was spot on. The problem was a failure of the bottom door switch. I used a multimeter to verify that the switched never closed properly. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the old switch (press a release tab under the switch while simultaneously rotating counter-clockwise). That was about the most difficult part of the repair. Read more

Range Surface Element Control Switch
Genuine Whirlpool part

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I had a dead front dual burner on our kitchen aid range no error code   Francis V. • Shelton , CT • April 04, 2015

I replaced the controller. I had a heck of a time figuring out how to get to it. The video on the website showed access to the control via the rear panel. On the Kitchen Aid we have, the back panel is part of the range's main frame and does not come off. Turns out, 2 screws behind the fluorescent lamp had to be removed and the entire control panel housing lifts up and can be tilted forward. (I needed to clean behind the range anyway, so it was no big deal)!! The replacement part instructions... Read more
