It required that you take off the top of the stove. The micro switch is between the inside pan for the burners and the outer frame that holds the complete stove top in place. Take the cover off back. Pull two-wire plugs off back of switch (remember how they go back on). Pop switch out from back through the front with a screwdriver from underneath switch by pushing up on the retainer clip. I replaced the controller. I had a heck of a time figuring out how to get to it. The video on the website showed access to the control via the rear panel. On the Kitchen Aid we have, the back panel is part of the range's main frame and does not come off. Turns out, 2 screws behind the fluorescent lamp had to be removed and the entire control panel housing lifts up and can be tilted forward.
