I removed the cardboard cover on the back of the fridge with a 1/4 inch nut driver. I disconnected all of the wire harness connections. There were a total of 6 or 7. I removed the bolts on the compressor so I could access the ground wires behind the compressor. I removed the ground wires behind the compressor as well as the ones in front of the compressor. Original cable and routing was not engineered properly. Cable was on back order for over a month from KitchenAid factory.
Daily use kinked and wore out the wires inside the cable. KitchenAid changed the cable routing and doubled the length of the cable. Instructions were limited and not very clear. The biggest problem was figuring out how to release the drawer slides. And there was very little room to get your hands and arms in behind the drawer.
I hope this was a once in an appliance-life...
