In order it SHOULD be done: Pried off two white caps covering the screws that attach the flap to the left door, then removed screws. Lifted flap up to remove from door and disconnected cable. Used a thin blade to pry out the inner cover of the flap, then carefully pried out the insulation piece inside. Loosened the screw holding the center cap from the inside and removed cap. Removed refrigerator panel, disconnected light and fan power. Removed fan assembly and replaced motor, grommets and fan attachment spring. Unit had adhesive on spring to help hold the spring. Chatted with customer service and clarified that spring and fan would easily pull off motor shaft. Adhesive probably was extra measure used during original build of the fridge. Noise was due to fan rubbing on housing. New fan position set to avoid any rubbing. Read more

I bought the defrost-clip (clip-drain-evap), but once I took the refrigerator apart--the large plastic "back" had frozen to the rest and left the insulation in pieces when I tried to pull it apart. I was able to replace the clip-drain-evap piece with little trouble once the ice had melted, but I was unhappy with the looks of the "back". Ordered the pieces from here. Downloaded the user manual. I never work on appliances but I couldn't justify the $200 a service tech would have charged to fix a $35 part. Followed the manual and removed the door. Replaced the broken plastic pieces. BE VERY CAREFUL not to strip the screws. I did and that's another story. Very easy to fix. Verified that the water line had flowing water, check. Removed lower screen and vacuumed and cleaned all dust. Proceeded to test water flow to the valve and beyond the valve.
