Heidi C Austin , TX August 01, 2015 Hinges on the door flap assembly were broken Unscrewed old flap. Then unplugged it. Plugged in new flap ( make sure it is right side up). I ordered the spring thinking I would need to replace it. But, the spring was in the new assembly. If there was a note that I would no longer need the spring, I would have saved buying the spring. Removed the broken door flap by removing 2 screws and unplugging the switch connection. Installed the replacement flap. Very easy. Required a phillip #2 screwdriver to remove the 2 scews, slide the divider up and carefully unplugged connector hidden in door. There is enough extra wire that it can be easily done.
