Pretty easy fix with replacement part from AppliancePartsPros -- but there's a catch: The eight control buttons, not the on/off button, all look alike, but they need to be installed in a certain order for them to work once you install the panel. After 8 years of yanking to open our Bosch dishwasher (SHE45M06UC/50 model #) the plastic front panel cover started to break off (one of the tabs on the left side broke off). The shipping was super-fast, so got the part within 2 business days. Just need to remove the lower Torx screws (3 on each side) which hold the lower front panel to the dishwasher to get access to the screws holding on the control panel, swap the buttons and silver handle, and replace. The parts from AppliancePartsPros.com arrived a day ahead of schedule. (I'm a big APP.com fan.) I removed the metal front door panel, then removed the broken plastic Panel-Facia which houses the handle. Because the buttons and handle trim needed to be transferred from the old Panel-Facia to the new one, I expected that, also being plastic, they may break when making the transfer, so I ordered all of those parts as well, which only drove the cost up about $32. Here's what the problem was: Started the 'Normal' cycle... I closed the door... it calls for water, water fills, ECS sensor doesn't kick it to the next segment of the cycle (wash), so the water over-fills and reaches the over-fill sensor. Opened up door panel, unplugged ribbon cable from old keypad and plugged in new keypad without installing just to verify keypad was the problem. Start button on new keypad worked so I then removed old keypad which is basically just like peeling off a sticker. Next step was to remove leftover adhesive using solvent. We replaced the thermal fuse as recommended by Appliance Parts Pros as 59% the problem and since it was only a $20 part we decided it was worth changing. We also replaced the touch pad /control panel for $160 (not the entire control component). We also discovered once the dishwasher was apart that the door latch was broken. I noticed something was wrong when the dishwasher no longer remembered the last cycle performed. After it finished, it would go to a default cycle. A couple of weeks ago, my husband said it wouldn't start. Then I noticed on subsequent washes, there was a high probability that it would hang at a random part of the wash cycle.
