Indicator light would blink three times, make a sound, but the dishwasher would not run. After making sure there were no obstructions, no problems with seals, filters, and latch clean, I cut the power off and back on. The Dishwasher worked for a few more times. Two weeks ago, my dishwasher would not run. It would beep three times when you pushed the start button: the same signal it gives when the door is open. I used the troubleshooting steps I found at applianceblog.com to do a hard reset. The fix was very easy. Control assembly is easy to access by removing 5 phillips screws. Unplug the wiring from the old assembly being careful to note which wire goes to which connector. Install the new assembly and connect the wiring. Read more

The control went thru a month or so of erratic behavior; the display would come on and flash and beep without any input on my part. Then it died completely. I did a little research on the GE website and determined likely cause waa a defective user interface board. First I watched Youtubes and decided it was the lower control board, ordered it from Appliance Parts Pros, and got it within 2 days. Installed it and no change. Called Appliance Parts Pros to repair the help line and they were very helpful told me I needed the upper board (UI) so I ordered it got it also in 2 days installed it and everything works perfectly. Tried CLR to remove hard water deposits. That did not help. Ordered new dispenser. The GE series that the detergent module fits in was a little difficult to open. Finally found a video explaining the whole door had to come off in order to open it up to replace the module. Works great now. Read more

Process was a bit more complicated than the videos I had watched online. Had to remove both front panel and control panel to get to soap dispenser. Removed wires to soap dispenser and rinse aide dispenser. Removed wire "harness" around the top and right side of dispenser. Pried back the clips to allow dispenser to be pushed out. It was helpful to have another person to hold the door open at this point. Bent clips back and reinstalled everything. New part works great. Read more

After reading through a few forums, I narrowed the problem down to one of 3 issues, the door latch, the switch assembly (control panel), or main control board. I rolled the dice on the switch assembly first. The main reason I did this was my belief the door latch was okay and because the main control board is more expensive. Replaced the timer and drain solenoid (timer had stuck in "solinoid active" position long enough to burn up the solenoid). Complete the project in two stages on two separate days: 1) replaced solenoid, which took about 30 minutes, 2) replaced timer. Accessing both was straight forward on this simple design dishwasher. Removed the kick panel to access the solenoid. Removed 3 screws and a circlip to remove the old solenoid. Reversed the process to complete this part of the repair. The... Read more
