Refrigerator User Interface Board Parts

I am a 76 year old woman and hesitated to tackle the job. But my son sent me a Utube video "how to replace the board," and I was able to replace it, surprisingly, quite easily. Ordered two boards which were indicated as the possible problem. I took detailed pictures of each board before removing to assure I was reconnecting all the connections correctly. I used a long set of needle nose pliers to remove each connector. The tricky part was trying to figure out how to remove the boards. A relay in my refrigerator would periodically click off, causing the compressor motor to stop and the LEDs on the front panel to turn off. I am not new to APP, fixed a tub belt on a Maytag dryer in the past. My frig started getting warm so I went onto to one of those "lists" sites and found a appliance repair place. I watched YouTube videos for two days. I figured out it was the inverter board.I replaced the inverter board and it worked !!! I had to buy a meter to make sure the compressor was still good before I ordered the part. Read more

Replaced the user interface panel. Four screws and 3 idiot proof wired connections. Hardest part was pulling the fridge out from the wall to unplug it before the swapping part. Read more

First I called the local retailer to ask about a non-warranty service. Minimum $100 charge. Figured I would take a shot at the repair as I had fixed the fridge once before. I used a digital thermometer to verify that the temperature in the ice maker compartment was at the right temperature. After some simple troubleshooting, determined that it was likely the (rear) main control board. Once the new board arrived, it was installed in 5-10 minutes once the refrigerator was pulled out from the wall and the area cleaned up a bit. My only negative feedback was that delivery was too slow by today's standards. Fedex Post was used and in my experience it usually adds an extra 2-days compared to other ground shipping methods. I replaced the defrost thermostat and the defrost timer. That corrected the problem. Be careful when ordering your parts. I put in my model# and they gave me a defrost timer that was incorrect. I had to return at my cost and order the correct one. Don't assume because you put in your model# that the part is correct. On each part there is a box to put in your model# to check to see if it fits your model. Don't assume that because you put your model# in before that it fits. If not sure, call them... Read more

Tried to put refrigerator in defrost mode and defrost would not initiate. Checked the bi-metal and heater, both tested good. Replaced the ADC board and refrigerator went in to defrost. problem solved. Read more
