Intermittent malfunction of front water/cube dispenser on our 13yr old ge cafe refrigerator after several months of inconsistent dispenser performance i searched videos of ge refrigerator problems Pete R. • Dagsboro , DE • October 23, 2022
After searching refrigerator videos of related problems I found AppliancePartsPros.com and inquired about replacing the Dispenser Assembly board on the front door. During the several-month malfunction period, the freezer and refrigerator were working before they finally stopped. That lead to a discussion with an APP customer rep who asked me to describe the problem and then reviewed their log of prior customer reviews & Fixit comments with me. We uncovered a description of identical issues in...

I looked on line and found out what might be wrong and then ordered the part from Parts-Pro. They showed us how to install the part. We installed the part and it works as good as new. We have ordered replacement parts from this company many times. We've always had good service from them. I would highly recommend them for all your needs.

The control surface of the ice/water dipensor assmebly was badly scrathched and worn out making the refrigerator look older than it is Jamshid R. • Manchester , NJ • December 16, 2016
Using the model number of the frig, I located the part (Interface Dispenser Asm) on the AppliancePartsPros.com. After reading the Q&A section for hints on how to change the part and looking at a couple of YouTube videos, it seemed that I was up to the task. I placed the order for the part and was pleasantly surprised that it arrived in a couple of days. Armed with a flat blade screwdriver and an old credit card, it took me about 15 minutes to first remove the bezel around the ice dispenser...

Compressor tried to start after defrost & stops quickly freezer temp too warm. Michael B. • Concord , NC • March 29, 2021
I don’t think I needed the capacitor and relay, but while I was at it I figured I would.
Originally we found we had an issue when water cane out of the ice maker. The freezer was hovering around freezing and the refrigerator was about 33 deg. I unplugged the refrigerator and it came back on and ran about a day. The next night, same thing. This time cycling power did not seem to help. Removing the rear cover where the control board was and moving it around allowed it to turn on next time I...

I had no cooling in the upper ( not freezer) section of my frige Alexander M. • Gloucester , MA • August 23, 2015
I had had the same problem 4 or 5 years ago and spent close to $200 to repair it.
I did have the slip from that repair with part #'s so I went ahead and ordered a defrost timer and thermostat.
You-tube had plenty of videos on replacing those parts and even before they arrived I was able to add a switch and bypass the broken thermostat and start a cycle manually with the timer. (which it seems was was still functional).
Between that and cycling some ice packs up from the still working...

Part Number: WPW10677119
The Control Board is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool bottom-mount refrigerators. It serves as the electronic control module located inside the unit.
Symptoms of a malfunctioning control board include:
- Failure to achieve proper refrigerator and freezer temperatures
- Sensors, displays, or timers showing inaccurate readings
- Unpredictable fluctuations in cooling performance
- Inability to adequately regulate humidity levels
Causes of a bad electronic control module often include failure of internal temperature or humidity sensors over extended use. Exposure to rapid fluctuations in conditions inside the fridge can potentially damage circuitry.
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, and Kenmore bottom-mount refrigerators.

Part Number: 5304499075
This main power control board is the appliance's central electronic module. It routes incoming power and coordinates key functions so the unit powers up, runs, and responds to controls as designed, restoring reliable operation when the original board fails. What it does:
- Distributes and regulates power to motors, valves, and other loads
- Processes inputs from sensors and user controls, switching relays/triacs accordingly
- Coordinates start-up and run cycles for consistent performance
- Typical symptoms include a dead/unresponsive unit, intermittent shutoffs, specific components not running, or visible heat damage on the board
What's included:
- 1 main power control board
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; discharge any capacitors where applicable
- Use ESD protection and handle the board by the edges
- Photograph/label all connectors; transfer any jumpers or settings from the old board to the same positions if present
- Inspect wiring and connected components for shorts before restoring power

Had error code sy ce. Robert G. • Rockwood , PA • October 16, 2019
I order both boards because everyone said one board did not fix the problem, until they ordered the other board because the new board does not communicate with new one. Well I replaced the board behind where the error was. That seemed to fix the problem. I never changed the main board under the fridge. So I would say try ordering the board behind where error code is. See if that fixes the problem before ordering both boards.

The refrigerator was operating in an unusual manner. The freezer would get abnormally cold even when set at the warmest temp on the dial. Then the refrigeration area was too warm. Greg T. • Boulder , MT • March 23, 2014
I took the bottom tray out of the freezer and found the coils iced up severely. I was reasonably sure the defrost timer was the problem and your tech said that was a good possibility. Ordered and replaced timer. (15 minutes) Problem fixed!!! Saved purchasing a new fridge at big bucks. We live over 40 miles from a service center so the cost of having a tech come out is astronomical. Thanks!!!
