- Restores proper cycle progression and safety shutoff when replaced
What's included: One lid switch Install notes:
- Disconnect power and water supply before servicing
- Access the switch from under the top panel/console per your model's procedure
- Release the old switch, move the harness to the new switch, and secure wiring away from moving parts
- Ensure the lid closes and actuates the switch before reassembly and test run

Direct drive motor coupling failed wouldn't agitate or spin Tim H. • Fort Collins , CO • October 18, 2014
Was set to pull the trigger on a new washer since this one was 10+ years old. Broke a $25 lid switch fumbling to get the washer open before I found the appliancepros video library. Once I got things apart the right way I was able to diagnose the problem in 5 minutes. Identified the $10 part needed. Got the $10 coupling and the $25 switch and had the washer working like new in 20 minutes. I'm pretty proud of myself.. not going to tell anyone about the $25 switch.

It took about 15 minutes to remove the coin trap and pump and about 20 minutes to install.
The shipping was amazingly fast. I received the parts the next morning. I'm talking I ordered the parts before noon, chose the "fast shipping" option and received parts the next morning around 8:30 AM.

A YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIdtNdDXFDk , by a professional appliance repair company described replacement of the freezer drain pipe with Kenmore's (by Whirlpool) revised drain pipe. Ice buildup inside the freezer was caused by warm air beneath the freezer contacting cold air from inside the freezer the resulting condensation freezing and blocking the drain, causing the ice buildup inside.
