I purchased the lid latch assembly and the lid switch strike. Following the clear video instructions for each part, my handy teenage son was able to remove the lid latch assembly and replace it with the new part as well as the lid switch strike. This repair was performed on a Whirlpool Cabrio clothes washer Model # WTW5640XW0 which has the digital electronic controls rather than the older style timer, electro/mechanical controls. Disconnected the water lines and unplugged the washer. Tilted the machine on its front side 3/4 of the way as machine still retains some water even after drain. From bottom of the machine I used an allen wrench to remove screw in center of shroud and remove plastic shroud containing the magnets along its sides thar drives the motor. Rebalanced the load but noticed the drum was sitting lower and the springs were wore out and it went out of balance easy, so i got the suspension rod kit and installed it and it works much better. It took me 2 hours because i didnt have adequate room to move around. Hour job if you have room. Read more

Replaced tub seal. It was a big challenge for me since it was the first time I do something like that. It was just a worn-out little seal at the bottom but in order to get to it, I had to dissemble almost the entire machine. I felt pretty good afterward. Read more
