It was a pretty easy fix not as easy as the 1 nut models they show on YouTube it had 3 tiny ones that my big hands had a bit of trouble with. It said 15 minutes it took me about a half an hour. I called a service company just to see what they would charge. $90.00 to say hello 1 hour minimal labor $110.00 and $120.00 for the part. It cost me $90.00 and 30 minutes of my time. Thank you appliance pro.

4 year old fridge our landlord paid too much for wasn't cooling. Robert W. • Royse City , TX • June 02, 2020
Gotta love the inter-webs and youtube.com I did a couple of searches and some troubleshooting. Everything pointed to the damper assembly and thermo so I ordered them as well as the new versions of the flimsy plastic drawer shelves, while I was working out of state during COVID. I had the parts waiting for me at the house. Rolled in Sunday, 22 minutes later, damper and thermo installed. The fridge is cooling. Today is Tuesday and everything is back down to temp. knuckle bump.

Freezer cold and the refrigerator was warm Paul P. • Warren , MI • September 09, 2019
I replaced the damper and thermistor assemblies. I saw another story here that was just like mine. Damper door was shut and would not open. I opened it manually then it would close and not reopen when reinstalled. I replaced the suggested parts and all was good. All in all a simple do it yourself repair to save hundreds.

Symptoms of a failing Defrost Heater include:
- Buildup of frost or ice on the evaporator coils despite regular defrost cycles

Freezer was not cooling Brian N. • Huntsville , AL • December 18, 2015
Got the six year old refrigerator from my daughter because of it freezing up but was in good ( Stainless Steel) shape to replace our 21 year old Kitchen Aid. The thermistor had been replaced as a cheap first step but didn't correct the problem as it totally froze over within five days.
I decided to tear down again and check the defrost heater element which was found to have an open circuit and hence the replacement part. Thanks to AAP, I ordered the part at the weekend, was shipped on Monday...

Ice dispenser no longer worked properly Alan H. • Birmingham , AL • June 14, 2015
Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam. I recommend if you gave a problem with the ice dispenser you break down and inspect the entire...

Broken handle on refrigerator door Margaret J. • North Olmsted , OH • January 29, 2016
I ordered a replacement handle and screws. The process was very easy with the help of one of your "pros" who found all the parts needed and took my order. I didn't realize I was getting both a refrigerator door handle and a freezer door handle in one set, but now we have the freezer handle if we need it. Removing the old handle and installing the replacement was very easy. It looks great, in fact the replacement is metal, whereas the original was plastic, so it looks better than it ever did!

I first found a trip online to advance the defrost timer, as a failed timer is a common issue. I advanced the timer, but nothing happened. I emptied the freezer, then removed the thermostat and tested it. No continuity! With the Freezer continuing to thaw, I...

Part Number: 241734001
The Ice Bucket Housing is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. This component serves as the main enclosure for the ice bucket, supporting and protecting the ice maker's storage bin. It is designed to fit securely within the freezer compartment, helping to maintain the ice in a solid state by insulating it from varying freezer temperatures and ensuring that ice production is efficient and consistent.
Symptoms of a failing Ice Bucket Housing include:
- Ice melting or clumping together due to poor insulation
- Difficulty in removing or replacing the ice bucket because of misalignment or damage to the housing
- Cracks or damage in the housing that can lead to frost buildup or leakage
- Unusual noises from the ice dispenser if the housing obstructs the dispensing mechanism
Causes of a bad ice bucket housing often involve physical impacts from handling, thermal stress from fluctuating freezer temperatures, or degradation of materials over time, leading to brittleness and breakage.
This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models
Note: For the complete ice container assembly with auger and moving parts, order part number 241860803.
