This is a multi-ribbed drive belt that connects the motor to the wash drum, allowing the drum to spin and agitate during wash and spin cycles. Over time the belt can stretch, crack, or break from normal wear. Replace this belt if the washer drum won't spin or agitate, if you hear a burning rubber smell, or if the motor runs but the drum does not move.

With more difficulty and frustration than expected but it works fine now.
Things learned:
1. Order only 3 replacement pins. One comes with the shocks that you can't be sure you see in the picture.
2. A circuit board in a plastic box mounted to the floor, left rear, must be removed by two screws to be able to get pliers onto the head of the pin more easily. This helps installation too.
