Protective shield that covers internal components on the microwave door. Replace if cracked, broken, or tabs have snapped off during handle or latch repair.
Careful placement of new screws into the inside of the outer door that now hold the frame assembly to the door secured the frame assembly to the outer door. All of the other parts I bought and replaced were a waste of money. I figured since I had them I might as well install them anyways. Easier than sending them back since I had the whole thing apart anyways. The part I really needed was no longer available, the outside door. The glass reinstalled into the retainers in the door without a... Read more
Microwave won't heat or makes loud buzzing noise? The diode regulates magnetron current flow. Simple repair—test with multimeter for continuity.
I have a multimeter so I was able to check the fuse per website recommendations and it was blown. However, the capacitor on the microwave was also original so I elected to replace the capacitor, fuse, and the ground protect diode. The repair was very simple (making sure the capacitor was discharged before replacing) and the microwave is now up and running again. Excellent trade to buy $40 worth of parts rather than a new $400 microwave. One nit - Kenmore puts a screw in the back that... Read more

Replaces a cracked, loose, or worn microwave door handle. Restores a secure grip for opening and closing the door. Quick DIY fix for broken handles.
I used a putty knife to remove the black plastic cover on the inside of the door to expose the screws to the handle. Fix loud noise, humming, or overheating in your microwave. This cooling fan motor restores proper airflow. Moderate difficulty repair with basic tools.
Looked online and found that someone had experienced the same issue and had replaced the cooling fan assembly for the magnetron. I ordered the parts for the assembly (motor, fan, and support), and replaced them and this fixed the problem. It took about 10 minutes to replace the parts, but lowering the unit and disassembly took around 45 minutes. Microwave won't turn on or has no power? A failed thermostat often causes complete power loss. Moderate DIY repair requires disassembly to access.
I checked for the reasons there was no power to the microwave. Then I talked with the technician at AppliancePartsPros who stated that it was most likely a blown or defective fuse. My LG microwave has two thermal fuses, a fuse assembly with two prongs and a short (1 inch) barrel type fuse. I replaced all of them after viewing YouTube videos and then reviewing the diagram for my microwave on the AppliancePartsPrps website. That was very helpful in locating where the fuses were installed. It... Read more
