Dropped light panel by removing two screws with socket set. Unplugged two terminals and unclipped the light socket from the base. Then just clipped the new socket onto the base, plugged the connectors onto the terminals and remounted the base. Total job was less than 15 minutes. Read more

Replaced filter cap with new one. The minor challenge was to find a method of pulling the filter out of refrigerator (which is normally done by pulling on the filler cap. The filter was recessed to far into the refrigerator for me to be able attach the new cap. I had to find another tactic to remove the filter. After checking the suggested fixes and parts on Appliance Parts Pros, I ordered the defrost thermostat and evap motor for my refrigerator, a Kitchen Aid KSSC42QTS00. Installation was very easy, simply emptying the freezer and removing the access panel in the back bottom half. I figured the valve that allowed water into the dishwasher was bad, or some controlling function of this process. I went online, typed in model number and had a full exploded view of the parts in my dishwasher. I ordered the inlet solenoid valve as the first step to what may be wrong. I searched the web for a replacement drawer to no avail. Once I reached this site I was pretty discouraged when your site also said my drawer was no longer available. Tipped the dishwasher on to its front, loosened the drain hose clamp and pulled the hose off. Then unscrew the fill hose which looks like a garden hose adapter. Cut the zip tie on the drain hose and take note of how both hoses are routed, then pull both hoses out the back of the dishwasher. Insert new hoses and route them correctly and hook everything back up. Couple of notes, I didn't have to take off the outer cabinet to do this repair. Used floor jack to lift and secure door, left upper hinge point in place, removed lower hinge support, removed old cams and installed new ones and lubricated, secured and adjusted hinge . Read more

Pretty easy fix. Took out 7-8 screws to remove cover for access to light. 2 were security type screws so I had to run to the hardware store to buy a special screwdriver. One screw to remove the bulb. Read more

I first wanted to get the dishwasher running, before ordering the spring links. So I disassembled the pump / motor assembly to determine the reason the motor would not start. My wife cleaned all of the parts in the pump assembly. I took the motor apart and discovered that the lower bearing ( a sleeve type bearing) was dry and dirty, and was the culprit for the motor seizing. I cleaned up the bearing and lubricated it with SAE 20W. I also packed felt inside the cavity adjacent to the bearing.... Read more
