I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. Initially fixed the gear drive, splutch and had new belt, but once I got under the machine I realized the belt had destroyed the pulley on the electric motor and the belt guard. I installed the new gear drive and splutch, then once I got the motor and belt guard in, I installed those. The motor and guard took 15 min total to complete. Perhaps, the only thing wrong was the belt and pulley, but I’m glad I changed it all out, and now know everything is new under there! Read more

Found that by manually spinning agitator one direction it seemed free, but spinning counterclockwise it seemed to stick a little. Pulled dispenser and agitator and found the agitator washer hole was oval rather than round. Replaced the agitator washer and the washer seems to sound normally for now. Not sure if the new agitator washer will eventually grind down due to non-circular action from the transmission, or if the agitator and clip will keep the transmission centered long term. Should...
