This Maytag dryer was bought in 1985 if memory serves. It has worked hard with few repairs done by yours truly over the years. Thanks to the engineering and excellent design by Maytag staff, removing parts are relatively easy. Once I opened the unit, I found it to be full of lint. Saw a video on line. Looked fairly easy to replace, but there were quite a few steps. I followed the video step for step and had the motor out in less than an hour. Tested motor with an electrical tester, just to be sure that was the problem. I ordered the motor from Appliance Parts Pros on a Sunday evening. The motor was at my doorstep Tuesday morning. I looked up the error code on the internet and determined that the drain pump had failed. I watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair video on how to replace this part, ordered a new pump and installed it myself in less than 30 minutes. Our Maytag gas clothes dryer was not drying like it should/used to and was making a lot of noise. After researching online I figured the vent was partially blocked and/or the blower wheel was bad. When I took it apart, the vent had very little lint in the lower elbow exiting the back of the dryer but the blower wheel was loose on the shaft and was missing the clamp. I replaced drum rollers, axle shafts and front bearing kit. Still had noise. Ordered Idler Arm, Belt Tension Pulley & Washers. I ordered parts at 3:30 pm on a Wednesday, received new parts at 11:30 am Thursday. The instructions & videos were very simple to follow and provided excellent tips. Back up and running with silence in an 1/2 hour. My 13 year old dryer is running like new again. Way cheaper than calling a repairman. Read more
