I followed Matt's awesome video from AppliancePartsPros.com to build up my "I can do this" reserves. But here's the story leading up to that point... We purchased our Samsung WF419 on a “Black Friday” special November 2009 expecting to get some good years out of the washer/dryer pair. We don’t run more than 2 or 3 loads a week in the washer, so ours has had relatively little use over the beginning of its anticipated and expected long life-cycle. When the “thumping” started on the spin cycle a... Read more
The Drain Pump and Motor is an original LG (OEM) replacement part for LG made washing machines that is responsible for removing water from the washer at the end of the wash cycle. The pump forces water out through the drain hose so that clothing comes out free of excess water, making the drying process faster.
Symptoms of a failing Drain Pump Motor include:
Causes of a bad Drain Pump Motor can range from obstructions in the pump or hose, which can strain or damage the motor, to wear and tear from regular use leading to motor failure. Electrical issues can also affect the motor's performance, preventing it from operating correctly.
This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.
It was fairly obvious that the washer drainer motor had failed, water was not draining, filter was clean (bottom lower left panel door, have a pail ready!) and drain line was not blocked. Someone had provided great advice on the Appliance Parts Pro's site about replacing the drain motor from the bottom. Great suggestion! Easy to do, although be prepared for more water to drain from the washing machine onto the floor after you lay it over. I carefully lowered the machine onto it's back,... Read more
The Water Inlet Valve Assembly is an OEM replacement part for LG washing machines, designed to control the flow of water into the laundry tub. This part is responsible for opening and closing to allow water into the wash drum at the appropriate times during the wash cycle, providing the correct water level and temperature.

The Tub Seal Gasket is an OEM part for LG washing machines. It creates a tight seal between the inner and outer tubs during the wash cycle, preventing leaks and containing water. The gasket helps prevent water from escaping the tub.
Causes of a bad gasket can include wear and tear from repeated use over time, exposure to cleaning chemicals or extreme temperatures, or damage from handling heavy loads.
Symptoms of a bad gasket include:
Repair went fairly smoothly by following the EXCELLENT how-to video provided. I had only a few issues and suggestions. 1. Because many of the screws and fasteners are of multiple sizes, I would recommend laying them out in a muffin tray or on a paper with labels for where they go back. 2. After removing the weights and prepping to remove the shock absorbers, after the front ones were removed, the tub tilted so far the rear shock absorber separated. The friction pads fell out. It was easy... Read more

A faulty sensor assembly can lead to incorrect readings, which can affect the washing machine’s performance and lead to issues such as improper water levels or unbalanced loads.
Symptoms of a bad Sensor Assembly include:
I watched the Appliance Parts Pro video and saw that it was a job that I could easily do. I ordered the Rotor Position sensor switch for about $21 on a Monday and it was delivered by UPS on Wednesday. The process was straight forward: 1) remove the back cover from the washing machine (4 screws), 2) remove the main bolt holding the magnetic drum on the motor; 3) remove the 6 bolts holding the coil on the motor; 4) remove the ground screw and wire harness clamp screw; 5) take the old sensor... I found a video, by another parts vendor, that showed in detail how to dismantle and repair the washer. I wouldn't have known how to even get to the problem without that repair video. Dismantling the washer was easy once I knew how, but would have been like a (litteral) Chinese puzzle without the video. Once I had cracked open the machine and identified the problem, the repair was easy. I ordered from Appliance Parts Pros because they offered next-day delivery of parts. I had the washer back... First and foremost, much thanks to APP for perfect transaction, and incredible price! The part was shipped quickly, and arrived fast. Immediate Availability of the part was outstanding, and truly saved this Canadian's day! See, in Canada, LG has their own unfair practice of NOT ALLOWING a Canadian citizen to purchase ANY functional parts for any of their appliances or products... furthermore, in order to get the part for any issue, you must pay directly for an LG direct service tech to come at... The repair was fairly straight foward as shown in the video. However, driving the shaft from the bearings took some doing. It required replacing the use of the board with a spare bolt and a 2lb hand sledge. (having an air hammer as reserve, also not a bad idea) I rated this reair as a "1" however I've been an auto mechanic for 40 years. If you do not have good general mechanical ablities you may find this more challenging as you get it further apart. I suggest anyone making this repair should... Read more

I'm a DIYer but still found the how-to video very helpful. The toughest part was removing the old bearings. I used a hardened punch for one side and then the head of a 5/8x6" bolt for the other side. The bolt might have worked for both. Read more

First off I want to say Appliance Part Pros rock! I have used them for purchasing repair items for other appliances in the past, so when my washer started making weird noises this was my go to source. I thought my problem was likely pump motor related as the water wasn't draining and I could hear the sound of the pump trying to work. After reviewing what others who had similar situations found to be the problem I took a gamble and decided to get the drain pump. Some who had that problem... Read more

Looked online at several websites to see if I could figure out the problem Came across AppliancePartsPros video on replacing bearings. Watched it a couple of times and determined (well, guessed) it was the bearings and/or spider. Followed the video (great job by the way) and disassembled the washer. The spider was cracked on one arm so ordered a new one from this site. I also ordered two new bearings and the bearing seal b/c learned from the web and local appliance store that they go bad in 7+... Read more
