The ordeal began after wiping around burner knobs with a moist paper towel with cleaner and wrapping the towel around the burner knob shaft to clean around it. The cooktop stopped sparking on all the 5 burners and no red LED light. There was gas flow and I could light the burner using a lighter. Removed fill level pressure switch knob. Removed three screws from the back of the control panel.Opened the control panel and removed electrical connector and plastic tube from the pressure switch. Removed and replaced pressure switch. Placed control panel to correct position and replaced the three screws. Read more

Unplug the unit from power. Remove decorative aluminum band from motor enclosure by removing single screw at rear of mixer. Remove screws (now exposed) which secure the top half of the motor enclosure. Using a 1/8" punch, tap-out the pin that penetrates the planetary gear cover and the motor shaft (takes some finesse to avoid damage to the painted/coated planetary. It is a tight fit!) Took access panel off the back of the refrigerator with 1/4 inch nut driver and found that the compressor was not running properly (humming and hot but not compressing). The compressor cooling fan was working as well as the fan in the freezer compartment. I fixed the same problem with another refrigerator by replacing the relay and start capacitor on the compressor. Initially performed troubleshooting over the phone with Bosch customer support and did preliminary research on the web. Ultimately had to call out service technician to isolate/confirm problem. Looked for obvious signs of mal-function, burned wires, etc. I found that the compressor controller(attached to the compressor) had an obvious burned-out spot. Took a chance that was the problem (it was); ordered all new OEM parts, including a new timer and run capacitor (a part that kicks in every time the compressor starts). Ordered the element control for my dual front right burner and a infinite heat switch for my left front large single burner. Removed cooktop and followed the instructions video given with the parts online. Process was simple and everything on my cooktop is working like it is brand new. The only problem I have is with the online chat, save time by calling in and talking to someone as the people I talked to online (4 of them) are in such a hurry to get to the next call they gave conflicting part...
