All this occurred after our utility had to cut off our water for 2-3 hours. We almost ordered a new ice maker, but thankfully someone had their repair story posted. Based on that story, we ordered a new ice maker supply line and a new water inlet valve for our Kitchen Aid refrigerator. I figured after 10.5 years that it might be time to replace the dispenser hoses because I was noticing black stuff in the dispenser trays. I replaced two or the four hoses and clamps on the far left side and for good measure the hot water inlet valve. The inlet valve was okay but the screen had all kinds of crap in there that I couldn't clean out so now I have an extra solenoid just in case one of the others fails. REMOVED BACK PANEL, USED PLYERS TO REMOVE CLAMP, PULLED OLD HOSE OFF, REVERSED PROCEDURE TO INSTALL NEW HOSE. TOTAL TIME ABOUT 10 MINUTES. Read more

I also noticed one of the two water recirculation outlets near the front door was no longer spraying water. When I took it all apart, I found that these two tub water recirculation outlets are both connected to the pump.. one was clogged. The impeller on the drain pump was no longer spinning with the motor.. looks like it was worn on the inside.. when I took the pump apart it was full of scale. Replaced pump. All components are accessible from the front of the machine. You have to remove two screws in the back that hold on the top cover, then slide the cover back. This will allow access to the screws that hold on the control panel. Remove the control panel (unplug cable), then remove the spring/wire that holds on the door bellows to the front panel (removing and installing that is the most difficult part of the job) and carefully remove the bellows from the front panel. After watching a number of videos and reading a lot of trouble-shooting discussions online I had ideas of what to look for as possible causes of the overfilling of the drum. I found the water level pressure hose had worn through after contacting the rotor. After temporarily taping the hose, I found the service manual inside the machine so I ran it through it test sequences without any error codes. Replaced original (18 yrs.) 1/4" plastic tubing, clamp and grommet (AppliancePartsPros/GE parts) from outlet of ice maker water control valve to ice maker inlet. Also replaced water supply line to inlet of water control valve with new, GE braided, PEX 1/4" supply line with pre-attached female compression fittings on both ends. Dishwasher failed to run normal cycle. Would fill and then empty, but would not run through the normal rinse/clean cycle. Determined that the Sump/Motor Assembly needed to be replaced. Dishwasher had to be pulled out to access part. Was difficult to snap into place and had to maneuver several times to get a tight seal before reattaching peripheral components. Ran a one-hour cycle to test for leaks and efficiency before reinstalling unit under counter. Read more

This hose did not just attach to the back of the washer--that would have been too easy. This hose went into the back of the washer, under the tub & attached to the pump at the front of the washer. Both the back & front of the washer had to be removed to access the hose. Luckily the crack was at an external spot where it was easily seen; unluckily my husband was out of town at the time & I had to take the washer apart & put it back together. Our washer is next door the bathroom. So when, during the rinse cycle, the hose split and we found the back of the house completely flooded I initially assumed the culprit was either the toilet or the sink or possibly an interdimentional portal into a demonic netherworld of vaguely chlorine scented water.
