Fix a refrigerator that won't cool or has a non-working dispenser. This main control board regulates temperature and functions. DIY-friendly repair.
After searching refrigerator videos of related problems I found AppliancePartsPros.com and inquired about replacing the Dispenser Assembly board on the front door. During the several-month malfunction period, the freezer and refrigerator were working before they finally stopped. That lead to a discussion with an APP customer rep who asked me to describe the problem and then reviewed their log of prior customer reviews & Fixit comments with me. We uncovered a description of identical issues in... Read more
Fix unresponsive ice or water dispenser buttons with this control touchpad. Simple 15-minute snap-in replacement—disconnect power, unsnap old part, reconnect wires.
Using the model number of the frig, I located the part (Interface Dispenser Asm) on the AppliancePartsPros.com. After reading the Q&A section for hints on how to change the part and looking at a couple of YouTube videos, it seemed that I was up to the task. I placed the order for the part and was pleasantly surprised that it arrived in a couple of days. Armed with a flat blade screwdriver and an old credit card, it took me about 15 minutes to first remove the bezel around the ice dispenser... Read more

This main power control board is the appliance's central electronic module. It routes incoming power and coordinates key functions so the unit powers up, runs, and responds to controls as designed, restoring reliable operation when the original board fails. What it does:
I order both boards because everyone said one board did not fix the problem, until they ordered the other board because the new board does not communicate with new one. Well I replaced the board behind where the error was. That seemed to fix the problem. I never changed the main board under the fridge. So I would say try ordering the board behind where error code is. See if that fixes the problem before ordering both boards. Read more

This electronic control board with overlay manages your range or wall oven's heating and user interface. Replacing a failing control restores accurate temperature regulation, proper bake/broil operation, and a readable display so the appliance responds as it should.
I first tested and replaced the temperature sensor. Since this is a slide-in range, I managed to pull it out just enough to access the back without disconnecting the downdraft and gas line. (For wall models this would not be the case.) Unfortunately, that did not do it. Next I replaced the lower heating element because it was a little below the ohms level it should be at. No go. So far, both of these were pretty easy to do and were relatively inexpensive so I wasn't too frustrated. Then I... Read more

If your washer won't advance cycles, runs continuously, or only works on delicate, the timer may have failed. DIY-friendly repair in 15-20 minutes.
The basin would fill but would not agitate, there was no sound, no grinding noises, no sound of a motor running without agitation due to a broken belt. The basin full of water was able to drain if I advanced the timer to Spin. By playing around with the timer dial further, I could get every function of the washer to operate, at least partially. So, that said electrical problem to me. I assumed the trouble was either the safety switch at the back of the lid or the timer mechanism. Tested... Read more

Turn off power to machine, Take off door panel - 12 screws. hold up door panel a bit and make sure to remove the ribbon from the touch pad to the control module (use some pliers to rock it out of the board). Since I was changing the Module, I just removed the 1 screw that held it in place and it gave me some more room to get my hands in there and remove all the wiring freeing up the board to remove the touch pad ribbon last (I didn't want to tear it because I was not replacing it and after 9... Freezer icing up or fridge warm while freezer works? The defrost timer controls defrost cycles. DIY-friendly fix in about 1 hour, saves $150+ on service.
I had had the same problem 4 or 5 years ago and spent close to $200 to repair it. I did have the slip from that repair with part #'s so I went ahead and ordered a defrost timer and thermostat. You-tube had plenty of videos on replacing those parts and even before they arrived I was able to add a switch and bypass the broken thermostat and start a cycle manually with the timer. (which it seems was was still functional). Between that and cycling some ice packs up from the still working... Read more
