I found you on google. We have an after market ice maker installed on our Jenn Air fridge. It was running over all the time. My brother in law had an ice maker on his fridge and it has an attachment on his icemaker that shuts it off before it overeflows. I went to Lowes and looked at a whirlpool fridge that has an attachment on its icemaker. I got the part number on it. Replaced control board. This project took about 45 minutes to complete. It helps if you have two people because at one point you need to squeeze 4 plastic clips. Also helps when switching wire from one board to the other. I am 71 years old and this was a very easy task. Read more

We followed YouTube demonstration and it matched my newer model freezer. The manuf. model number is not similar to any online parts supplier. That made my ordering risky. Read more

I ordered a complete new bin with everything in it attached already. All I had to do was wash it and set it in the compartment on freezer door. Within a couple hours, I had ice again. Easy fix. Read more

GE bottom freezer icemaker stopped working for the 2nd time. Refrigerator bought in 2008, replaced (first time) icemaker in 2009 by GE tech for $450, after 7 years 2nd ice maker failed I decided to attempt replacing the icemaker myself. Purchased a replacement icemaker that comes as a kit. I replaced the water valve and the icemaker unit with in 30 minutes and I had ice the next day. Easy peasy for less than $140. Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam.
