This was a very simple repair. It was done in about an hour. It involves disconnecting the dishwasher, emptying the water from the inside, taking it out and flipping it over, and replacing the diverter motor. I went ahead and ordered the element, and the 2 different thermostats not knowing exactly which one might be the problem. My My Maytag opens from the front and it was actually pretty easy to get into. Also gave me the opportunity to vacuum out the inside of the dryer. 1) Ordered part.
2) Removed front panel by loosening the two screws at the bottom front.
3) Removed old Safety Switch/Lid Lock by disconnecting wires (plug and 2 female disconnects)
4) Reconnected all wires and reinstalled switch.
5) Replaced front panel.
6) Tested Unit.
7) FYI - I found that the locking mechanism stays locked until cycle completely finishes on its own. DO NOT force the cycle to end. Lid will NOT unlock.

I tested the Atc. mid level switch, with my multi tester and found it was not sending enough current to the cold water inlet valve, so it would not open and let cold water in.
