Although I ordered the latch, lever and a new cup and replace the original pieces the dispenser still did not close. On further inspection it turned out to be a small spring that had fallen out of place. Once the spring was reconnected the dispensing cover worked fine. I'm still happy that I replaced the entire assembly with new parts regardless. Discovering the loose spring took the most time. Read more

In order it SHOULD be done: Pried off two white caps covering the screws that attach the flap to the left door, then removed screws. Lifted flap up to remove from door and disconnected cable. Used a thin blade to pry out the inner cover of the flap, then carefully pried out the insulation piece inside. Loosened the screw holding the center cap from the inside and removed cap. Worked the cable out of the hinge piece so it could be removed and cable pulled through case. Pried upper and lower caps... Read more

Used a flat head screwdriver to pop off old cover. Put new one back on. Keep the little plastic screw as the new cover does not come with one. Read more

I ordered a new detergent dispenser and control assembly, watched a few videos on you tube and dived in. The repairs were pretty simple once I got started and while I was doing this I went the extra step and cleaned out the drain. I would suggest doing this annually. Pretty simple to do and only 5 screws to get to the drain and the grinder. There was a horrible screeching noise coming from the washer, and upon inspection I found that the retaining nut that attaches the cam to the machine was either improperly tightened to begin with or had worked itself loose causing the cam to wobble and the belt to work down the cam. The cam gear teeth became worn and the belt worked itself half off the cam and cut a hole in the protective plastic screen containing the whole ensemble. I purchased the belt, shield and cam kit. Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more

Took cover completely off and tried putting back, could not match up left screw with available screw hole. Tried many different configurations and sequences to make this happen. watched a video on changing the front panel, the door in it had four screws, mine 2, no help there. Searched on the hyperextending issue, found an article about dogs and kids [had both here] climbing on the door and to check the springs and linkages. Unplugged and unscrewed Advantium Oven. Pull it out with the help of a friend as it is heavy. Removed the two screws on the top access cover and removed it. I removed the plug and discharged the capacitor just in case with an insulated wire to the ground. I needed a long #2 Philips screwdriver to access the 4 screws holding it in place. First I ordered a new ice door seal, spring, and crank, figuring the condensation in freezer and door was caused by ice door not sealing. Turns out the solenoid for the ice door was completely rusted and was the primary cause, if it had been replaced early, it would have saved the dispenser board. What then happened was the moisture in the freezer door damaged the control board rendering dispenser controls inoperative as well as the heater around the dispenser. I did not see the old ones fall out, so I was not sure the exact product placement within the rail, which was frustrating, to say the least. For the next person's benefit....these slide into the MIDDLE of the rail that is attached to both sides of the dishwasher. Not the front, not the back, but the middle! This was a pretty easy fix. Removed the screws around the perimeter of the inside cover of the door and pressed the outer door cover upward to release it from slots retaining it. There are four wires to remove (2 for the detergent door release and 2 for the rinse agent release). Removed the 6 screws retaining the dispenser assembly and inserted the new one. Reassembly is simply in reverse order. Problem solved for less than the cost of a service technician's call! Read more
