BEWARE THE HAIRDRYER In an effort to unfreeze the indoor water supply line with a hairdryer the extreme heat deformed not only the activator paddle but the housing that surrounds it. In the time it took to order and install replacement parts the frozen blockage had thawed. Back in business for now and if the problem reoccurs I will be looking for a different path to resolve the issue. Read more

I referenced the repair video. Very straightforward and easy. Only need 3 tools: 1/4 and 5/16 nut drivers and Philips head screwdriver. About 15 minute job. Surprising how much lint and dust build up inside the chassis, was able to clean that out too. Read more

Tested the power to the unit by turning on the cooktop portion and saw that I had power to all of the burners. Turned the selector knob to broil and saw that the top element would heat up. I then turned off the breaker to the unit. I then decided to take out the baking element to do a continuity test. When I touched it, a 1.5 inch section fell out. Repair took 20 minutes - 1 minute to set the new, non-broken shelf in place, and then 19 minutes teasing my spouse about the fragility of glass and multiple repetitions of the phrase "This is why we can't have nice things!" I replaced the hose between the tub and the pump. The clamp screws were quite rusted but I used a socket wrench on them since they have hex heads in addition to the screwdriver slot. If I had tried to use a screwdriver, I think it would have been difficult. I did not reuse the original clamps but replaced them with hardware store hose clamps. Read more

The ship was quick (although expensive) and about 20 minutes after arrival the new parts were installed and the wife is happy again. 1. remove the top caps covering the brackets. (carefully) pull up on the front of the cover until it clicks and then slide toward the front and they come out. 2. you will need a phillips head screwdriver to remove the white and black brackets. I ordered the replacement lens from AppliancePartsPros.com. They shipped it quickly and when the part cam in I just swapped it out for the broken lens. Read more

Bought a new home with microwave venting into kitchen. Ordered damper assembly needed to vent through the wall to the outside. Removed microwave, followed directions in original installation instructions, turned fan over, cut hole in wall, installed wall cap and replaced oven. Problem solved. Read more
