Repeating freezing of defrost drain. Frank A. • Greenwood , IN • February 21, 2022
Fridge keept building up ice in defrost drain drain in freezer. Once the drain pan filled with ice it drips into fridge compartment. After taking things apart three times to thaw it out, decided to replace defrost components - heater and temperature switch. In addition to new parts, also added a 12 gauge copper wire hook that hangs from defrost heater into the defrost drain.
After this, the defrost cycle is running as expected, but will not know if the issue is corrected until a year or so...

The Igniter is an OEM part designed specifically for Whirlpool brand gas dryers. It produces the spark to ignite the burner and initiate drying cycles. If your original ignitor was round, also order bracket 37001309.
Symptoms of a faulty igniter include:
- Inability to start or maintain a flame within the combustion chamber

Potential causes involve typical wear from repeated sparking over many heating cycles. Mineral deposits or moisture intrusion can reduce effectiveness as well.
Compatible models include some brands produced by Amana, KitchenAid, and Kenmore.

My son advised that my Amana LG3412W suddenly developed the "no heat" syndrome William S. • Tulsa , OK • September 11, 2018
After verifying the no heat problem myself, I just googled "LG3412W no heat" with my smartphone and thumb. One of the first hits was the Appliance Parts Pros website with a list of 8 possible parts that might fix this problem, listed in descending order of likelihood of success. With 3 adults worth of dirty laundry piling up and straining our ability to drip dry, I had to agonize over:
1) buying a new dryer from whatever a local dealer had in stock, then clearing years of valuable junk in...

The bake element on our stove burned out Ginny A. • White Oak , GA • June 27, 2014
My husband, who was the FIX-IT repair man at our house, passed away in March. When our bake element burned out my son, who is 18 looked at me and I looked at him and we shook our heads! We hunted on the oven till we found the serial number. We googled for GE OVEN repair parts and up popped AppliancePartsPros. We found the element, ordered it, watched the DETAILED VIDEO on how to change it out. The part came the next day. Philip had the old one out and the new one in in less than 10...

Wall oven (matag mew5530ddw) was not reaching temperature in bake mode above 300 deg Dennis G. • Hudson , FL • October 10, 2016
1st. replaced thermostat probe inside wall oven - no change. Then removed range heating element and measured it with ohm meter for continuity and found it to be OPEN. Ordered replacement range heating element; measured it before install and found it to be a few ohms - installed in less than 5 minutes and tested. ALL WORKS GREAT. Both items purchased with shipping were just over $100. (I chose to keep the thermostat probe instead of returning it being the oven is just over 10 years old).

"hot cooktop light" stays on all the time Randy E. • Anna Maria , FL • April 22, 2017
This repair was on a GE glass Cooktop range. This range has two indicator lights, a Burner On light, and a Hot Cooktop Light. The problem I was having was, the Hot Cooktop stayed on all the time (24x7), even when the cooktop surface had been off for hours and was cold. YouTubes that I viewed were all misleading on this symptom. They all pointed to the switch, which is the fix for the Burner Light staying on, not the Hot Cooktop Light staying on. I figured it out by going to the schematic....

I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just...

Fridge would not defrost no error codes Nathaniel C. • Marietta , GA • April 04, 2015
I have had the unfortunate problem of fixing this previously, so knew what to order. I ordered the defrost sensor and heater... and replaced both. Honestly, all I needed was the sensor I did and ohm test and got 0 on it... meaning it was bad, but just in case I replaced the heater.
The fridge works great now, but I would suggest if this is your first time with this issue, remove the panel, unplug both sensors from the fridge, and do and ohm test while they are still in the fridge... and then...

The refrigerator was building up ice on the evaporator to the point that it was interfering with the cooling fan Louis R. • Corpus Christi , TX • May 14, 2016
I replaced the temperature sensor, the thermo fuse, and the heating element that thaws the evaporator on a cycle to keep the evaporator from freezing up. The most time consuming part of the repair was waiting for the fridge to thaw out so that I could remove the cover. I disconnected the fridge the night before and placed a fan on low with the doors open so that it was thawed out when I awoke. It was easy to remove the evaporator cover once I removed all of the shelves. I took pics as i was...
