Kitchenaid Fabric Softener Dispenser Agitator Parts

• Will not agitate
• Spins slowly

Replaced washer drive block and Cam. I called around and finally settled on Appliance Parts Pros because they helped diagnose the problem, told me what parts to replace and had videos to show me how to do it. I had replaced the Agitator cams a couple of times already due to my brother-in-law overloading the machine which stripped the teeth off of the cams. I also noticed the agitator seemed to 'wobble' and made 'knocking' noises quite a bit. Pulled the washer apart (using your videos as a refresher) and found that the plastic coupling between the motor and the transmission had failed. Searched for parts vendors and found your site. Ordered the coupling on-line and went back down to clean up the machine. In the cleaning process I found a damaged thrust washer for the upper agitator and broken drive dogs for that same agitator. The ridges inside the agitator base were stripped. Installed a new base - after a good cleaning of build-up on the spindle. Works like new! Read more

• Will not dispense detergent

I ordered a new soap dispenser and began a new venture in repairing my dishwasher. I turned off the breaker that suppled power to the unit. I removed all the T-15 torx screws from the inside cover except one, which my wife helped me hold in. This prevents the cover from dropping off. Then, after removing those two, we closed the dishwasher cover, and lifted off the outside cover. That being off, I saw the two wires connecting the dishwasher dispenser solinoid. Removed them. As a homeowner, I love that I can just type my model number into Appliance Parts Pros website and find a listing/diagram of the entire unit. I watched a few on line videos. Found 2 easy things to check. The motor coupler then the clutch. It took me about 30 minutes to get everything apart and find out which problem it was. Went on line to Appliance Pros.com and ordered the new clutch.It came in 2 days. Took less than 30 minutes to get it on and get everything back together. It was awesome. Read more

Simply lift up the old filter and cap and discard it. The new assembly simply pushes down and on to the agitator base. It stays in place by clicking over a raised perimeter rib on the base. This is the easiest repair (short of screwing in a light bulb) that one could do. The hardest part was to identify which parts I needed to purchase. The parts associate at Appliance Pros was terrific in tracking down what was needed. Read more

I purchased part #85753076A, Whirlpool Fabric Softener Dispenser. Popped off the top from the agitator and popped on the fabric softener dispenser. It took me less than a minute and it works perfectly! No more missing the rinse cycle!!! Read more
