I had a slow leak at the water inlet valve where the water line from the filter assembly connected to the water inlet valve. I determine that the water line had scratches in it which caused it to not seal. Had to buy the entire reservoir and filter assembly to get that water line. The replacement was smooth. It took about 30 minutes to swap out and it fixed the leak. Read more

Bought new Transmission/gear box. Putting in the new one was easy. Taking the old one out was a nightmare. The corrosion on the spanner nut and drive block was awful. Ten years of VERY hard water and six kids made for a lot of corrosion and hard water crystallization. I do not own a spanner wrench. I am not sure having one would've helped. Replaced tank assembly. Actually I think the supply hose was originally not fully seated in the tank and I think I could have re-seated it deeper through the gray bushing. When I set the line into the new tank, still leaking. Pulled out supply line and reset using a little more force and line went into the tank. Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced. I replaced the washer's transmission. The replacement was a little bit detailed because you need to remove several parts inside the washer and under the bottom of the unit. The replacement took more time removing older parts and cleaning the washing machine before I could replace the transmission itself. Every six months I change my refrigerator filter. I purchased a new filter (UKF8001) and installed it just like I've done many times before. This time, when I first used the water dispenser, I got a horrible sound (kind of like a jack hammer/vibration) followed by very little water flow. I replaced the supply line to the fridge - no change in taste. I replaced the MWF manifold and tubes, the water inlet valve and the water storage line. That did it, good tasting water again!
