VERY simple fix- you do not even have to pull the range out.. I ordered a new cooktop from Appliance parts Pros. The customer sales rep Alphonso was great and walked me through the general process. I could find no explicit instructions for the repair but I muddled my way through. The fix is simple on Kitchenaid/Whirpool slide in ranges. 1. Open the oven door and remove the two phillips head screws directly below the control panel that hold the panel down.2. Lift the control panel upward and... Read more

My cooktop repair was a total success from start to finish. I reviewed and later followed the APP repair video, which helped me decide if I wanted to tackle the repairs and guided me right before I started. The APP phone staff member was very helpful verifying the parts I had identified online using the model number of my older GE Profile cooktop to locate and view the correct online exploded view diagram. Radiant Element
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB30T10099

The Radiant Element is an OEM part for GE ranges and cooktops. This part provides efficient and even heating for cooking. This part uses electricity to heat up and transfer warmth directly to the cookware. The radiant element is encased under the glass surface of the cooktop, offering a sleek and easy-to-clean cooking area while ensuring optimal heat distribution and cooking performance.

Causes of failure might include a burnt-out heating coil, damage to the element's electrical connections, or a malfunction within the control system that regulates power to the element.

Symptoms of a bad Radiant Element include:

  • The element not heating up, leading to insufficient cooking temperatures.
  • Uneven heating, causing inconsistent cooking results.
  • The cooktop surface not responding or only partially heating, indicating a possible failure in the element's circuit.

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Large dual burner   Frederick E. • Athens , AL • September 19, 2014

Stove is a GE Adora Model JBP63HH2bb. It took me forever to figure out how the burner was attached to the rails. My glass top was different than any instructions found on the internet for changing out a burner. The burners on this one are held to the bottom of the glass cook top by two rails that cross the bottom of the burner assemblies. In order to get too the burners you must remove 4 Phillips screws to lower the rails and burners from the cooktop. I suggest two people do this because... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The "power boil" heating element stopped working and needed to be replaced   Karl S. • Oxford , MI • April 05, 2015

I ordered the 8 inch Haliant Element from Appliance Parts Pro with overnight shipping (I needed to have it working for Easter weekend!) and it arrived when promised and in perfect condition! To replace, you need a couple of boards longer than the stove is wide to hold the stove above the counter. You will also need a T15 Torx head on a handle or socket wrench. It also helps to have some pliers, and a second person to slip the boards under and out from the stove when you lift it. First, shut... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Switch burnt due to water boiling over   James R. • Macon , GA • October 27, 2020

I took it apart to troubleshoot. I was pretty sure it was the switch but wanted to make sure it wasn't the element as well. Sure enough the switch was burnt at a little piece of copper protruding out the side. The plastic was blackened too which was a telling sign. The element was fine. I replaced the switch, turned on the cooktop and it worked again. Apparently, these switches are wired in series because when this one went out the rest of them wouldn't turn on either. Read more
