Removed freezer door by removing 4 bolts holding slide tracks for freezer basket. Pulled out old gasket. Soaked new gasket in hot water to smooth out a crease that resulted from shipping. Installed new gasket, starting at corners. Used a blunt tool to push new gasket into slot at the corners. Set remaining gasket material with hands. This was a tough fix because there were two causes to my problem - a stuck water valve and a bad ice maker. I first replaced the water valve, but that did not resolve the problem. This is the crisper drawer cover assembly that sits on top of the crisper drawers in the refrigerator compartment, featuring a glass insert within a plastic frame. It acts as a shelf while also helping maintain humidity levels in the crisper bins below. Replace this cover if the glass is cracked or shattered, if the frame is broken, or if it no longer sits level on the drawer supports.
I had to purchase the whole glass and support for the drawer and throw out the old glass and everything but the support brackets from the original. This electronic module controls the water and ice dispenser functions on the refrigerator door. It processes input from the dispenser switches and manages the operation of the water valve and ice chute door. Unfortunately, this part isn't sold separately, but the plastic that is attached to the metal spring that allows the actuator to disengage broke and I had to physically pull the "paddle" part back up for the water to stop coming out. First, take off the trim piece underneath the LCD display (screws are underneath), then take out the screws for the LCD display and pull down and out, then unplug the wires. I believe we had two problems. Our gasket was ripped in several places and our drain pan line was clogged. Therefore the water was frozen and backing up into the freezer.
