The Water Inlet Valve is an OEM part for Bosch dishwashers. This component is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the dishwasher. It operates via electrical signals from the dishwasher's control board, opening to allow water to enter during the fill cycle and closing to prevent water from entering during other cycles.
Causes of a bad Water Inlet Valve include mineral deposits from hard water, which can block the valve and restrict water flow, or electrical failure, which prevents the valve from opening or closing properly.
Symptoms of a bad Water Inlet Valve include:
- Dishwasher not filling with water, leading to unwashed dishes.
- Water leaking from the dishwasher, potentially caused by a valve that doesn't close completely.
- Overfilling of the dishwasher, which can occur if the valve fails to shut off.
This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.
