Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. Emptied the door, removed the top door hinge plate, removed the door, then removed the damaged lower hinge plate and bushing, and then replaced them with the new parts. Everything went back together just fine, and now the door closes properly, and stays closed!

I took off the back cover of the range. I then took out the bolts which had held the control board in. I placed the control overlay on the new control board, and then plugged it in. I bolted the control board in place and replaced the back cover. For $135 in parts and 15 minutes of labor, I did what the appliance repair company wanted to charge me $500 for.
