I doubt I needed all the parts I bought but I am limited on time. So I replaced the defrost thermostat, defrost timer, and the defrost heater. So far so good. It hasn't been 2 weeks yet, but I have noticed that the freezer doesn't seem to be constantly running as before. Time will tell.

Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. The ice maker valve failed intially which I ingnored for probably 8months.
Then the main failed so no water was getting to the water dispensor.
