Oven is a slide in. I pulled it out just a Few inches and removed 8 screws and Pulled the face down to expose the unit. The control unit had 4 screws and 4 Plugins. It only took me less than 10 Minutes to replace unit and slide back In place. Read more

In an attempt to clean the range from the grease-gunk build-up, I had to remove the burner heads. Unfortunately, the 2 most used burner heads had immovable screws that locked them into the orifices underneath. After numerous hours in attempts to salvage the old burner heads and orifices attempting to remove the immovable screws, I gave up. Checked Maytag's website for parts and found nothing. Not really a repair, just needed to update some parts that were worn out. Drip pans were perfect and I am so glad to have found them on this location. Read more

What you will need: * replacement parts * small and regular Phillips screwdrivers * small wrench * soapy water in a spray bottle or leak detection spray Take apart the top of the stove control unit 1) turn off the gas to the stove, in my case I cannot get to the shutoff valve easily so I ended up turning off the electricity to the stove at the fuse box as that forces an emergency shutdown of the gas supply internally of the stove. 2) remove all 5 knobs, the grates at the top and open the oven... I called a rpair service. The men came to the house, torn apart the stove top and advised Replacement of the wire harness. The trip charge of $100 would be deducted from a repair bill of $350, thus they needed an additional $150 for parts and $100 for labor after paying the trip charge. I bought the harness for $60, and the star bits I needed for my drill for $10. My son and I installed the new harness in about 30 minutes, which included a thorough cleanup, saving us $180. This cooktop has a dual element with an inner burner surrounded by an outer burner. The switch controls either the inner burner alone or both.
