This water level pressure switch senses air pressure from the tub and signals the control to stop filling at the correct level. Replacing a weak or failed switch restores proper filling, helps prevent over/underfilling, and allows cycles to advance.
The error code indicated the washer wasn't getting any water, although the basket was filling to an unusually high level. After checking the inlet hoses and their connections but without opening the top cover to see the actual water level pressure switch, I went ahead and ordered the part. After receiving the switch, I opened the cover and found the original switch had fallen off it's mounting (for who-knows how long ago) and was resting against the drum. Per a similar story and recommendation from one of the guys at AppliancePartsPros, I replaced the temperature control switch in the rear of the machine. Most time consuming part was locating the screws I dropped! Washer works like new again. Easy fix. I posted the issue on the repair forum. I received a response within 24 hours. I accomplished the recommended diagnostic tests then ordered the part. The part arrived two days later. The installation took five minutes. The wife has run three loads with no recurrence of the smell. Read more
