This element repair kit restores a safe, solid electrical connection to an electric range/cooktop surface burner, helping the element heat consistently and reducing arcing after the original connector has overheated or loosened.
PLEASE UNPLUG DRYER FIRST. This was my first attempt at trying to fix my dryer (Maytag SDE515DAYW). Order the element kit Part Number AP4046564. The installation was easier than I thought. Just removed the two front panels and I was able to reach the back of the dryer, under the drum (this is where the heat element was located), disconnected the wires (took pictures first) and removed the two screws that held the heat element. Pulled the part down and it just slid off. Connected all the wires... Read more

Microwave won't power up or shuts off after seconds? Failed thermostats cause intermittent operation. Test for continuity—straightforward repair.
Removed OTR microwave. Checked the thermostat switches while power was applied with a DVM. Noticed that when a certain set of wires was moved the slightest bit the microwave would power up. Traced the wires to the thermostat switch for the cavity. Noticed that where one (of two) Faston terminals was crimped to the thermostat switch was black. (should be copper colored). That is a sure sign of arcing from a loose connection. Since the specification for the switch was to trip at 248F degrees... Read more

When I pulled out the dryer from the wall, I could see dust/lint had accumulated everywhere and the vent system was compromised. I vacuumed up the dust/lint accumulation outside and then inside the vent system. I then opened the lower cabinet to clean and check its condition. I removed the water steamer bottle and its sub-assembly and then the drum. After cleaning and inspecting components — both visually and with a multi-meter I determined the problem was the appliance doing what it was... Read more

Dryer won't heat or stops when hot? A faulty cycling thermostat disrupts temperature regulation. Testing with a multimeter confirms the issue.
I replaced both the cycling thermostat and the hi limit thermostat along with a new thermal fuse and it seems to have fixed the problem.
