Evaporator fan was loud and eventually quit. This allowed the freezer temp to rise above 18 deg. which they activated the PF code. Replacing the evaporator fan motor fixed the problems. Read more

Required new ice bin (container) which has busted up in pieces from the stress of trying to turn while half melted ice had it jammed, something had to give. Ice auger ripped itself out of the dispenser end breaking the ice container. Got new container, disassembled per the drawing, reassembled. Read more

I went in through the lower back of my Whirlpool bottom-freezer refrigerator, found a duck-bill end on the existing drain tube, and removed it. Less than a cup of water was released into the evaporator pan. I didn't need the drain tube I bought - and replacing it would have involved getting into the interior wall inside the freezer, which would have been a LOT more work. Thawed out the evap/heat exchanger assembly, replaced the overload/relay kit as well as the defrost control board and the fridge was back in business, everything working fine. I'm kicking myself for not ordering these parts earlier. there was a clicking sound coming from the compressor that I ignored which was a huge mistake. Read more

Took photo of seized motor in place and disassembled. Installed new fan and motor. Of course I used the wrong fan and had the air blowing back into the freezer compartment. Two screws and pop on the other fan and good to go. Thanks for supplying both fans. Read more

Replaced the motor, however not the easiest to do with the older refrigerators. First I had to remove the shelf that hold the ice bin. There is a small screw midway underneath the tray. Once removed the shelf is loose but still hard to remove. There is a side panel that is slotted andonce removed the shelf can then be removed, but not knowing that it is a very odd fitting unit.
