This 4-position rotary encoder is the user-control input that lets the appliance detect selector knob positions so settings change reliably. It replaces a worn or faulty encoder to restore responsive cycle selection. What it does

Converts knob rotation into electrical signals so the control board reads selected settings
Replaces an encoder that causes intermittent or no response when turning the selector
Helps stop erratic or incorrect cycle selection caused by a worn or damaged shaft or contacts
Resolves clicking, jumpy, or unregistered position changes at the console
